?

What should Mike Ashley do?

  1. Sell him now?

  2. Reject but sell in summer?

  3. Reject forever?

With Tottenham offering £23m, Liverpool offering £30m, imagine if Carroll keeps his form going. Ashley won't sell for less than £30m now that it has been offered, and if he keeps his form up, it would logically only go up!

I want Carroll to stay for life, I'm sure he wouldn't mind but if he wants to better himself, then playing under an Ashley regime isn't the way.

We all know Carroll will leave in the summer, and we all know Ashley isn't accepting now just so he can keep us up, and then sell for the big bucks in the summer. And we then know, say we are offered £35m, and we take it, that no way will £35m be spent on improving the squad. We will be lucky to see £10m of it, maybe a couple of loans.

I hope he doesn't leave, and roll on 11pm as I am ****ting myself at the thought of seeing Best and Ameobi up front for the rest of the season!

Mike Ashley will be jizzing none stop at the thought of £30m+ coming his way in the summer.

I've said reject forever but we all know that players and teams change.

I don't see Andy at Newcastle for his entire career.

Sell him sometime in the future when the squad would be able to cope with the loss or if Andy really wants to head off to pastures new. Sure; he may not bring in a fee of £30 million by then but the value he brings to the team now by securing safety far out strips the potential short term gains if he was sold now.

im pretty sure he will leave in the summer for £30m +

i will be gutted if he leaves and i just want him to get fit so i can see our best stiker since shearer play in the famous black and white number 9
he's already our hero at 22 and he would be at 32, 34, 38 if he stayed here for the rest of his career, i would love it if he stayed here another 5 years, i would love it.

We're never going to become a top club again if we sell off our star players to the already top teams. It's a beyond stupid idea which just ensures that Newcastle will never get anywhere and will just dwell in the mid/low table area forever.

To be fair, the price wont stay this high forever.
UEFA spending limits linked to clubs' income kicks-in in June meaning fees will tumble - hence crazy fees now, it's now or never for the big cash-in.

I'm not so sure... I mean it doesnt matter what Ashley wants, as long as Carroll wants to stay at the club, and the manager makes it clear he wants him, **** Ashley, Carroll can reject terms!

With Colo, Jose, Barton, Tiote, Nolan, Ben Arfa, Carroll. We have the basis for a very good team. We are (hopefully) a team that is only going to improve. So I wouldn't blame Carroll if he wanted to leave in a couple of seasons if we haven't improved as he could possibly be recognised as a world class player by then.

Under Ashley we will become a selling club.

With Carroll probably going in the summer, he wont stay with us forever, Ashley will try and make Ranger the best new thing and so it will go on.

It makes some financial sense as well. I just hope Ashley see's that. Carroll is a player who has the ability to become an EPL top scorer, with an incredible drive/passion and with a relatively small wage packet of around 30k per week at the moment. He actually wants to stay with this. There's no hope in hell that we could find anyone capable of doing that who doesn't cost a fortune and doesn't want big wages which we couldn't afford. As for the passion, you couldn't buy that for any amount of money.

In every scenario I can just see NUFC losing out in one way or another, whether it's right now or a few years down the line.

The Everton or Arsenal model is what we're following now. I can't be certain which it is but before the sale attempt and relegation it was certainly the Arsenal model...

Either way; basically a selling club with a few large acquisitions every other season.

I agree that Carroll will probably be sold in the summer. I remember hearing Pardew say that Carroll would not be sold "in this window" so I reckon that he has got an agreement with Ashley that allows him to keep Carroll until the end of the season. £35 million in the summer would go a long way to strengthening the squad, and if Ashley added a reasonable amount to this Pardew could be looking to have £45 million to spend.

thought the same when i heard pardew say that, also think we'll lose forster to celtic as well the criac (from forster himself)is that pardew hasn't even contacted him since becoming boss.looks like we could lose two good young players in the summer and there was me thinking the selling the silverware of the 80's was a dark distant memory

    Sunderland fan in peace!
I was pissed off to see Judas go, but now think it could be a good thing, My point is that £30+ million for a very good but un-tested, relatively inexperienced premier play has got to be good money especially if that Muppet who owns you invest that money back in club.
Just a point (would hate to see you lose him.)
