For me, personally it would probably be ZAMINDAR. I think he is highly underrated as a sire and considering his record with fillies – 4 G1 winners including ZARKAVA – I think he is a steal at £12,000. In fact I’d say the only reason his fee is that low is because all his G1 winners have been fillies, he has yet to prove he can sire a top-level colt.
It is probably difficult to say that DUBAWI is “good value” considering his recent hike in fee to £55,000 but he does have an astonishing record – 6 G1 winners and his oldest crop are only 4! He has certainly made the impact that it was hoped his ill-fated sire would and it will be interesting to see how his paternal half-brother ECHO OF LIGHT does, he is off to a reasonable start with 2 winners from just 11 runners so far. He was a late-maturing sort, like his sire, and did not run until the latter half of his 2 year old season. It could be that, with his fee at only €3,000 it is an excellent opportunity to buy into a top class bloodline.
