Kensal Rise is quite nice, my mate lives there. The Island and The Chamberlayne both great pubs. Hope that helps.
Booked up a long weekend in March to Malta with a couple mates, anyone been before? Much to do out there?
Currently got my finger hovering over the buy now button for yet another pair of Adidas Originals. I don't need them, I probably don't need to buy a pair of trainers for the next five years if truth be told, but I want them. please log in to view this image
Nice, depends what upper Garms you rock with them. You could look cool or just some twat who wears running shoes no matter what, however at least they are not Asic running shoes, I think they come out of the box looking manky. Jeans or some cool chinos, a fitted retro Adidas jacket(ive got this mad gun metal grey one, would go with the trainers) you need one of a similar shade...and your famous flat cap. What's that I hear? Pussy, that's right, loadsa pussy.
They're grey so they will go well with jeans. I wouldn't wear them in winter so it would be t shirt/polo shirt/cotton sweater/hoody/sweatshirt on the top. Maybe a nice shirt. If I were to wear a coat or jacket it would be either my blue Ralphy harrington or my blue casual blazer. What's this flat cap bollocks?
Not been in the Maid for donkeys. There used to be a wine bar opposite called Over The Hill, was in there a few times back in the day. Had a half decent roof garden out the back that was nice in the summer.
Great place Perfect if you want a nice mix of the local culture but English bars that fit in with said culture. I loved it over there. Whereabouts are you going. Hire a car, it's about 40mins from one end to the other and every town offers something different. Loved it.
Sounds up my street, cheers. Staying in Sliema, got a little hotel with practically a sea view. Yeah we're planning on getting a car to have a look around. Been told upper barrakka (sp?) gardens is meant to be nice, apparently you can see both sides of the island from it, or two sections that are well known, something along those lines, was half pissed when a mate mentioned it... Was actually half pissed when we all booked it too
Sliema is nice, it's where all the fancy boats and yachts are moored up. A nice bay tbh. Two places I'd recommend - both opposite in what they offer. First Valetta the capital iirc. Busy shopping centre set within a fort and lovely view over a strip of water where boat planes come flying in to land in the bay. Secondly Mellieha... very laid back, set up in the hills, it's where all the fancy villas are. It's got a couple of lovely English bars around there. And great beaches you can drive down to from there also. I loved it in Malta. Trust me you'll want to go back. I'd happily retire there. You probably wont have time to go to Gozo but that's not bad either.
