John Stephenson, the ex developement manager at Watford has resigned from Brighton already citing that he can't settle in the area after only 6 months in the job! Will he surface in the Cardiff area sometime soon??
Chris, a good post. I know what you mean and wouldn't bet against him scurrying to the valleys. Stranger things have happened and Brighton should put him on gardening leave and demand compo!
"Not being able to settle" in Brighton and moving to another country would be pretty blatant. He'd get away with it mind.
Just had a look at the Brighton newspaper to see if there was more on this story. Seeing as they are part of the same group of newspapers as the WO nothing new in that but the comments after the article suggest a clash of personalities. One comment that I picked out: The timing of this move less than a week into a new season seems incredible to me. Surely there must have been a major clash of personalities somewhere along the line with either the chairman or manager? I'm also worried this is going to affect any ongoing transfer negotiations. It all seems to have gone quiet on Harley and judging by the first two games, we badly need a quality midfield player and pacy defender to compete with the better teams in the division.
Very interesting find, I too would expect to see him at Cardiff in the very near future! What concerns me is now Brighton and Cardiff plus maybe one other have inside info on us, ie the rising stars in academy ,that info might be damaging!
