So the officials **** up the two major decisions in the game and get to walk away Scott free while we as a club make our protests known at the time due to pure incompetence and they charge us .. fkn unbelievable Jeff!
I don't think Walcott did enough to get sent off. But he did more than our lads who are now up on an FA charge. It's a farce.
Walcott threw the ball at the assistant referee, ie violent conduct. He should have been red carded for that alone. If one of ours had done that, do you think the card would have been red?
I think he just threw the ball away in his usual petulant manner, I think the claim he threw the ball at the lino is a bit weak, he was too far away. In fact, I think his subsequent squawking at the ref was worse than the ball throwing. Though a yellow for throwing the ball away and a second yellow for getting in the refs face would have been reasonable and very entertaining.
We need analogy. It's like finding out your missus is shafting your best mate. After a messy split up you come home to find them going at it on your porch!
Bunch of ****ing jobsworths at the FA. If that is a charge fir failing to control our players then the likes of Arsenal and Man United will be getting fined every month. Of course it's much easier to dish it out against a lesser light than grow some bollocks and hand the same sanctions to the bigger clubs.
I trust that the club has someone going through the video footage to compile a medley of all the times some Arsenal player was in the refs face moaning about a perceived injustice. It's unbelievable the **** they get away with.
just look at the crowd around the ref after Diame's goal - maybe the rules have changed since then but no action taken against them at the time
It's one thing making a mistake during a game when an incident flashes by quickly and you have to make a call. It's another to double-down on it half a week later. Wasn't there just a vote of no confidence in the FA in Parliament? I agree that it stinks of punishment after being embarrassed about Clattenburg allegedly issuing that apology. Weak. Sad. As The Donald might say.
I thought that at first but if you watch the replay of him chucking the ball he is definitely looking towards the Lino, so imho he was chucking the ball at him, poorly admittedly, but at him anyway. Red card. Two yellows one after another would have been just as funny however, and fully justified. please log in to view this image
The FA is corrupt to the ****ing core. We need to survive this season and continue to irritate these ****s for many seasons more.
Not forgetting just after we had gone one up in that same game, we 'scored' again and it was disallowed for offside. Their winning goal was scored from a very dodgy free kick and Gallas was a couple of yards offside, I was at the game and people were receiving texts from others watching it live on SKY, but their goal stood. In the same game Wenger stormed into the referee's room at half time and complained about our time wasting and robust tackling, according to him. From memory I think the ref was Mike Riley, and he booked nine of our players and none of theirs. Ashbee was booked within minutes of the kick off. Don't get me started about the FA Cup Final.....
I still hate Fabregas for wandering onto the pitch at the end of one encounter strutting like Liam Gallagher in a leather jacket and spitting at Brian Horton, he was never charged.. Wenger never saw the incident, nobody did but it was on camera..
Consistency is a key point over this incident. The beginning of this season saw a rule change which stated that numerous players surrounding and arguing with the the referee over a decision would not be allowed. Unfortunately it has not been used when this has occurred in other matches that I have seen until now. I agree with the rule change but if it is the rule it should be applied to all teams.
Apparently Mike Riley was suffering from tendonitis for a month after that game, in the left wrist for waving 11 yellow cards and then in the right wrist for onanism whilst watching the highlights..
ha ha just posted that, but nevermind it deserves mentioning at least twice.. wasn't that the game where Brownie was giving it the "they don't like it up 'em" treatment in the pre-match?
It is amazing how many incidents happen in our matches against theArse. Particularly at the Emirates/wembley. In these games we have quite a good record results and performance wise. Also the home game which turned out to be Brownies last game when we played with 10 men for 45 mins but lost to a goal in injury time. Even before we got to the Prem as a northerner i always hated Arsenal. But now i really depise them and just love every result we get against them. Lets hope they finish outside the top 4 this year.
When I was just a whipper snapper I knew two old gents who were at both games of that semi-final + they both told me independently of each other, (they did not know each other) three things that have had me hate Arsenal since. 1. The referee was a cousin of a member of the Arsenal board. 2. Arthur Childs, City's centre half was sent off + no one knows why to this day. Arsenal say it was violent conduct while others said he illegal studs. He was the first man to be sent of in a FA cup semi-final. 3. The referee never refereed a first class game again because of the uproar about his performance. As an aside one of the blokes was a butler for a guy who was also a keen City fan as well as a pilot. They would fly to matches all across the country watching City. He was genuine chap + I have no reason to doubt him.
He threw the ball at the linesman knowing he was too far away for it to hit him. Nevertheless it was an aggressive and even threatening gesture towards the official which could have resulted in a red card.
