When I worked for my previous firm ...well known UK company, the servers they used were located in Germany...my IP address therefore showed me as being in Germany...couldn't even put on lottery tickets because Camelot's website thought I was outside the UK. You can show yourself as being just about anywhere in the world if you want (although it helps to know your geography if you are going to do it ) via the use of a VPN ...many people do as they would rather not disclose their real location on the internet ...google it ...if you want to do it, it shouldn't take more than 20 mins... always pleased to help

You missed the funny bit ... HIAG demanded bans for others on the basis that his posting history proved he was in Las Vegas ..brb confirmed that some posts suggested that HIAG might have posted from California (although for the reasons already mentioned that wouldn't prove he was actually there) ...but HIAG leapt on that demanding bans on the basis that it proved irrefutably that he was in Las Vegas ...just one tincy wincy problem with that ...Las Vegas is in Nevada...not California....

Multiple accounts Rufus ...take what I mentioned earlier ...posting from home my IP would show me as being in the UK ...10 minute drive to work and I post "from Germany" ... how easy to set up a different account on one and find a new mate to support everything I post?
Exactly, Roofie. You've got it, and so have most of the reasonably-minded folk on this site. It is only that handful of utter ****wits who cannot (or will not) get it into their thick skulls that the evidence is more in my favour than in theirs. Then again, with the Seggies, it has long since been the case that I see them as having less of an Agenda and more it simply being the case of their being unthinking ****wits.

No they are not Dufus I think you'll find that anyone using a VPN can use it for any purpose that they choose. Whereas you could be in Basingstoke and give the impression you're in Vegas, California.
