The list of appalling decisions since Ashley arrived in '07 hasn't faded from my memory. Benitez clearly wanted to get a couple of players in this window and that was obviously blocked. When Rafa gets hounded-out by Ashley, there will be a meltdown on Tyneside and we could well see a repeat of the 'Newcastle United for sale' fiasco of years past. People are being blinded by the fact that Benitez is such a good appointment. What else has Ashley actually achieved?
I don't anyone thinks he is a good owner (unless they are crackers). I think it's just a lack of viable alternatives. No one seems remotely interested. There is very little reporting in the press. If he did sell we would probably scraping the barrel based on the lack of interest. There are actually worse than Ashley sadly. I think the only thing you can give him credit for is providing funds in recent times. But he gave it to buffoons. Buffoons he appointed. To be honest I don't think Rafa has any right to whinge about the window. He has had huge funds. To me he needs to manage the squad he has better. If you look past the good work he has done elsewhere in the club, past his track record, past the hero worship from some, his results and performances on match days given the money he spunked is only average to fairly good in my opinion.
Not a ****ing chance of winning anything of any relevance under Ashley. Worst owner in the 125 year existence of the club, and that's saying something. Overseen 2 relegations and the worst run in history against SAFC, but apparently we should be grateful as we haven't done a Leeds or whatever. FFS.

Mike Ashley has a massive amount of money and a great deal of that has come from reaping the rewards from the Premier League. Financially he hasn't 'achieved' anything. They are lovely flags though.
