Hopefully this will be the only game called off. Was looking forward to the first match of the day on saturday and to be honest Spurs v Everton would have been a decent game.

After last night though it seems as though everything is calming down. Hopefully over the next 2 nights everything is restored to order.

This is terrible, it looks like the riots are calming down as well.

Bolton have a game in London against QPR, that shouldn't be called off, not in the right area.

The police say the reason they have called this game off is because the area is a huge crime scene. The council don't have enough time to clean up the area and get Tottenham sorted for the game. The other area's, Shepherds Bush and Fulham haven't seen any rioting I think so both games there should be fine.

The ones who could be in trouble are the Liverpool game against Sunderland and West Brom against United. Both areas saw rioting though there was some trouble in Nottingham and they still managed to have the first Nottingham derby in 17 years played there on Tuesday.

Hopefully Tottenham will be the only place that is actually that bad. It was the only place where the riot was a genuine angry, smash everything up riot whereas in most of the country it was more a case of pretend to riot to keep the police busy whilst we rob everything we can.

Wasn't the Tottenham area where it all kicked off?

I think Bernie made a good point, there's no logical reason why a football match would be a target for rioters considering the security presence usually at matches.

But it is better to be safe rather than sorry and it does seem like London (certain areas) are a bigger threat than others. Loftus Road isn't central London but it's near Hounslow and Ealing and my ex was telling me that it getting scary in those areas as well.

the police have released a statement saying that the biggest hoptspot was inside KPR's head - apparently looters broke in and found there was NOTHING inside, so it all just kicked off instead:)

Bunch of pussies in North London. We'd never cancel a game.

Just goes to show which city is truly the worst to live in. I always see Arsenal and Chelsea fans mocking us Utd fans, as well as City and Liverpool fans talking about all the crime that occurs in these cities and asking who on earth would want to live there. Just goes to show that London has much more criminal activity than the north

To be honest mate I don't care what happened. The fact is the game is off. I didn't read why but I saw that explanation given on another forum.

Anyway yes I'll be there next week, our 1st home game of the season, your 1st game of the season, both sets of fans and players should be up for it. Should be a cracker.
