Just realised who the duffer of a co-commentator was yesterday. Ian Dowie. Tbf, watching the 90 mins [paused] he isn't all bad, but for me it's not high quality opinion generally.

I wouldn't say supporting a team is like playing the lottery. Check the odds of winning the lottery and compare them to the odds given for your team winning.
I agree support is poor and so many people leaving is bad. But I understand the fans frustration. A better way to protest about the running of the club would be to stay away.
RE entertainment: I'm not saying that unless your team is winning each week you have a right to complain but we fans do pay a lot and can expect our teams to at least compete. If we pay the same money each year, Kat creams off the profit from player sales and we capitulate and finish bottom I think we would have a right to complain.

Your argument would carry a bit of weight if this wasn't the first year in 8 that we haven't consistently improved our league position. As it is we are in a Cup Final. Let's criticise Kat when we do finish bottom, shall we?

I think you misunderstood me. I was simply using this as an example of how fans would have a right to feel disenfranchised. I'm not suggesting this is the situation at saints.
We were discussing Sunderland fans leaving early and the idea of fans paying for entertainment.

I'm quite happy with either, tbh.

Either he's on course to finish the season with 136 goals in 16 games, or 65,535 goals in 16 games.

Sorry, cross purposes there indeed. That's fair comment.

Let's settle for 136 then. 3 in the Cup Final would be a good progression any way you look at it!

No one suggested it, but I thought that a penalty was an option because they were pulling at Gabby. And if it didn't hit his arm it would probably have been an OG. Doesn't matter in the end of course.

Been off the grid, I heard that we apparently we won 4-0 at Sunderland, with our new signing scoring twice, and we kept a clean sheet.

All of this seems like a barefaced lie. You won't sucker me that easily.

I was just wondering if you were sat in a dark room somewhere not knowing how to deal with the happy feelings?

Dealing with happy feelings in a darkened room (sometimes lit only by a red lamp) is something that I've experienced many many times.

Ha.! On Blackmore's commentary yesterday, there was a point where he belatedly apologised for saying 'Sunderland 2 Saints 3', after Saints had scored their 3rd. A couple of people had tweeted in, pointing it out. Must say I hadn't noticed. Did just now listening to the Solent highlights. Quite weird that he actually says it.
