Yes, but I got rid of Sky. Well I didn't as Now TV is owned by Sky but I no longer have recording ability, but £30 a month better off!

I was really frustrated that we didn't manage to bring a CB in in January and whilst I still prefer that we had, there is always a silver lining. CB is a difficult position to give young players a chance in. Whilst I'm sure he'll make mistakes along the way, some costly, it's all fantastic experience and so far, he's looking really positive. Well done Jack. Keep up the good work.

Yeah, funny that the one consistent in the times we've seen 4-2-3-1 this year is JWP on the right.

    Thanks.

I have always been against JWP playing on the right as he has no pace and lacks the ability to beat a man. Surprised to hear that actually as he rarely performs well out wide. Did he have a particularly good game?

Been impressed with Stephens, think there's a very promising player in there.

You can always watch the highlights on the OS:
    https://southamptonfc.com/news/2017-02-12/90-in-90-highlights-sunderland-0-4-southampton
More detail than MOTD, and you get the pleasure of the Blackmore/Merrington commentary.

Is it me, or has Shane Long come back to life again? 4 goals in his last 7 games, but it's not just his goal scoring, it's his general hold-up play and interaction with the midfield. Yesterday both our second half goals were created by Shane holding the ball up and laying it off perfectly, and then getting into position to receive the cross. OK, Denayer put the ball in the net for the first, but Shane was right there. The second was a goal kick from Fraser landing perfectly on Shane's chest about 40 yards from goal, whereupon he controlled it and sent the ball wide , and ran for the box. Brilliant centre forward play from a player not generally thought of as a CF.

Sunderland fans have had decades of dross to watch, I know Ive been there watching other teams. When three passes cosequtively raises a cheer and the crowd banter is the only highlight, you get the feeling that leaving early is the only way to express your frustration. We think our board are clueless, but Sunderland seem to work at it. Never have so many fans been taken for a ride by repeated managerial disasters and poor recruitment of players. But they still turn up in their thousands because its their club and theycare.

Yeah I feel like Sunderland fans have justification to show displeasure towards their club as they've been horribly mismanaged in bad faith. Futile and misdirected perhaps, but fair enough.

Impotent rage against players, management and executives that have acted on the best intentions is nothing but counter-productive though.

Yep, went to the OS. I think Long has got some confidence back for sure, and his all round game has improved. Love Shane Long when he's playing at his optimum.

But how do Sunderland keep getting it so wrong? This has been going on since they returned to the Premier league. Who is it that needs moving on? Players change, managers change but nothing improves.

It's endemic. In the same way that players change, managers changes, but Saints keep improving, little by little. To paraphrase that writing chappie, "There is something rotten in the club of Sunderland."
