Joking aside, I do tend to measure the quality of the chain type restaurants on how well they cook fish (my wife tends to eat fish when we go out). As Piskie said earlier, its relatively easy to "finish" food off on the grill, oven or microwave, but more difficult to "part cook" fish.

Been to a lot of seafood restaurants in Bournemouth.
They are okay....nothing spectacular, but Bournemouth and Poole do have some decent seafood eateries.

After a really poor run it was a relief to play Spurs at home.

We knew they would attack which would play into our hands - which it did.

    Thank you, come again <ok>

    Poncetto

"If Chelsea go 12 points clear, it is a big problem,"
he said. He also called 12 points 'a massive gap. So, if Chelsea win at Turf Moor this afternoon do we all put a line through the title race and worry about who is going to finish in the top four?

I have a rule, never order fish in a restaurant more than 15 miles from the sea (the caveat being unless it's a fine dining establishment)

There's nothing quite like truly fresh fish, served literally straight from the sea. Some of the harbourside restaurants in Greece and Portugal for example, fresh, simply cooked fish, can't beat it imo.

I don't tend to eat a lot of fish from restaurants, but do enjoy cooking fish on the BBQ at home.
I agree with the harbour side restaurants though, fish shouldn't be messed about with.

I love fish, but as you say, not messed about with, either simply fried in a bit of butter, or grilled.

My exception is a cataplana in Portugal, if you can find a restaurant that makes a good one with fresh fish, it's a fantastic dish.

One of my favourites is buying a fresh live Tilapia from the market and kill it when I get home, gut it then stuff lemon grass and herbs down its gob then cover it in sea salt and BBQ it. eats well with Chinese noodles and fresh vegetables.

It's funny how some Spuds on here were saying that the title race was open, Chelsea will crumble, We're only 5 points behind them, etc etc, after their win against us. <laugh>

But they're not actually truly fresh though.

They've been pulled out of the sea and put in a cold room until shore.

I have a mate who was a fisherman would has cooked them literally as they come onto the boat.

Says they don't taste as good believe it or not!

I was talking about local small fishing boats. I've sat on a quayside restaurant in Santorini and literally watched the local fisherman bring his catch off his boat via rowing boat, and it going straight into the restaurant

Your mate has no taste buds btw <ok>
