And once again a shout for Migs, he seems to get dogs abuse when he makes the occasional mistake, but there's little appreciation when he's solid like today. How significant was the Son save in the context of the game? I think he's better than many give him credit for.
Well done lads. Mane v Davies....there was only going to be one winner, the other one is applying Savlon to his ringpiece tonight. That set the tempo and the rest is history....all the best....some twists and turns still to come. See you around YNWA.
Just about to say same. Didn't have much to do, but that save at 2-0 could have been crucial. 2-1 and we've seen the team fall apart when under pressure and could have been diff game had they scored. Also came off his line well to get some crosses Can still be improved on but when he plays we'll need to praise him for it.
Although I don't rate rose as a great defender, it's clear you miss his pace and attacking threat. Without him you had nothing down the left to force Mane back. Really you'd want Mane against Walker and Cout against Davies.
2 points separate 2nd from 6th. Crazy tight at the top ignoring Chelsea. Looks like a 5 way fight for final 3 CL spots. Considering how bad we've been since then of the year, to be 1 point behind 2nd is pretty good going. Not ideal and would rather be in them, but out of all cups, Klopp can concentrate on 1 game a week with a pretty much full squad now. With Europe starting again for everyone around us, gives us a bit of an advantage. Also next game week, united v city is postponed and Arsenal game, with the LC final so good chance to put some pressure with a win away to Leicester.
We can't play wing backs without Rose and Walker. Davies is no wing back. He can slot into a back 4 but that was just going to invite Mane. If it was Rose, Mane would have had other things to deal with. The space down our left was embarrassing and us playing 4231 takes our fluidity away. This is where Poch falls short for us. He over thinks situations and we end up clueless. He should have played N'Koudou as a wing back, at least he can match Mane's pace and certainly wouldn't have been as **** as Davies in defence. 4 at the back just meant we strangled Walker's strengths on the right side too, well played Poch! The devil is in the detail as always.
Agreed. Plus the return of Mane will be big for us. Still don't think that we've turned a corner just yet because we've done extremely well against the big clubs and Spurs played so high. If anything, this match reinforces the fact teams should not come to play against us. Play deep and give us possession.
It's simple. We'll only properly turn the corner when we start to get results against the teams with styles that we haven't been getting results against. That will entail finding a different way to get that result or finding a way to do what we did today, somehow
Mane needs a song What about ... Been spendin most our lives livin in a Mane paradise Keep spendin most our lives livin in a Mane paradise
Great and much needed win. I like many of us suspected we will get more joy from Spurs than we've had recently. Spurs are exactly the team arrogant enough to think they can outplay us at Anfield and incompetent enough to bottle it completely in front of our vocal crowd. We deservedly beat them and it could/should have been more.
Worried about a sixteen day break it can take time to find groove, hoping we play a friendly around day 8
