I felt the same, the fact the ball was going away from goal was Gibbs barged into him, which sent the ball away from goal. When you see it from the other side Markovic actually took the ball on his chest, and it looked to me without the barge would have had the ball under control.

After being told the ref apologised for giving the goal he said he apologised if that was true.

More corners and covered more distance. Of course in football things like possession.mean **** all. That is what makes it less predictable than sports like both codes of rugby or American football where the team with the greater possession normally triumph.

I'm bloody fuming, I don't mind losing fair and square, but two questionable decisions, first goal, yes, not intentional but the ball ends up in net after direct hand contact - if that had been against Man U or Chelsea, wouldn't have been given. Add insult to injury, ref apologises at half time, unbelievable. Professional foul on Markovich, would have been through in goal, terrible decisions against us. Had that been all square at half time, 2nd half is a different game, with them under more pressure to chase the game. Livid.

He did say he hadn't seen it. Which is understandable being on the halfway line on a level where fans pay over £100 the view of the pitch is obviously not very good.

Decent performance and City should come out of that with confidence in tact for the winnable games to come. First goal should definitely have been disallowed and Gibbs should have walked. The penalty was unfortunate and the ref really didn't have much option but to give it and, sadly, send Clucas off. Let's hope that recent form is carried forwards to the upcoming home games.

We can't blame the ref for the first Arsenal goal.

He clearly did not see it and had players blocking his view. It was only after City players started their protesting that he went over to the linesman.

The linesman unfortunately was on a different planet as his view across the pitch was clear and unobstructed.

The point is there would have been no discussion over whether it should have stood or not if it had been our forward.

Of course there wouldn't that's football.

We're not here to sit down quietly being partial, applauding when necessary.

So the bookies will be paying out to those who bet on a 1-0 Arsenal win?

Exactly! If this is now another new rule then thanks for the ****ing lesson Clattenburg! From now on if a player is through on goal and hasn't touched the ball yet just hack the **** down...you'll only get a yellow!?

Just admit you were wrong FFS. The referee said he looked at the replay at half-time and then apologised to the City players for getting it wrong!!!
If he can do that why can't you?

    First time at the Emirates

    Think its **** and souless

Poor support today . I hardly recognised the usual city crowd present

Lots of Arsenal fans in the City section.

Arsenals mascot coming over in front of stand caused a stampede of supporters wanting selfies with the mascot

Load of asian looking fans with selfie sticks

I wont be going to Arsenal away again

I had a good day despite everything.

No, that's what people do at the KCOM. And what our away fans do at the Emirates.

Did you mean impartial? Don't want City fans being so vulgar and biased as to be partial, do we?

And so the big decisions continue to go the way of the big, glamorous clubs who the world football markets slaver over. No change there then and the annoyance never lessens, especially when it's against those cheating, self-rightous, white sleeved knob-jockies.

However, the fact remains that you get very little out of football matches unless you score goals. We created very little again and although Niasse huffed and puffed and although two wingers looks exciting we continue to conjure up very few chances and squander the good positions we do create.

If we end up relegated that'll be the reason why, not that the state of Premier League refereeing is a scandalous embarrassment.
