I got offered the City job....turned them down straight away. Into my third season as Toon boss.....implimented a transfer policy - no one over 26, and no more than 60k a week. Finished 7th in my first season, and then third in my second and picked up the FA Cup. Have an incredible team, and some great youngsters. I'm still **** at FM Is it better to try it with a Championship team, rather than a Premiership team? What's the best way for a novice to get into it? Need something to do now my 360 has died! Need my football game fix
You get more pride from a Championship team. Do a year with a top 4 side so you get used to how everything works then scale the money down and do it at a lower level. I have a second save file which I have been playing as Southampton......sitting 2nd in League 1 at the end of Jan, straight race between me and Peterborough for the title. And am into the final of the JPT. Its more difficult......but yeah Id say play a year or two as a big club where you can get the best players and work on tactics knowing you will probably win regardless, until you get it narrowed down. How far along are you? I'm just a couple of months in (I dont have the update either). McCann is the best player but has ligament damage so I wont be seeing much of him. I couldnt talk to any players at all either, they all reject contract offers! Nathan Dyer and Adam Hammill are doing well for me on the wings though, one scores and one gets assists! Panic bought Macheda as no strikers at all would join on a permanent deal
Oh yeah, ****, I play McDonald and Cork. One game into the season... accepted a big bid from Villa for Eagles and he turned them down!
I sent Cork back for some reason. I think I decided I didnt want any loan players as your side immediately becomes worse when you get promoted. Then decided to get Macheda in a panic I'm not too keen on the Championship though, too many games close together. One tip I have is to ask the board to upgrade your training facilities, they're quite agreeable and did it for me (wouldnt do **** all on my AC save).
Will do, get a new scout. Tim Henderson isn't very good, get Bobby Roberts, Bob Dowie and Alan Miller, or anyone with better scouting really
If anyone fancies starting a game outside england with a non big club, try Evian in 2nd tier france, they got a sugar daddy chairman who ploughs money in, in jan. You also get a nice pink strip with evian (water brand) logo across. Oh and you have Cacapa.
Ended up with Miller, Henderson is useless Tried to get a load of better coaches and stuff as well but they wouldnt agree to join. Will need a proper CB when/if I get promoted as I think Bikey does OK but Carlisle is ****e in the PL.
I went to a trialist game to pick up a freebie, and the man of the match was half a star according to my scout.
