It's not good at all, but there's **** all we can do about it. He's the billionaire owner of the club and he won't be leaving any time soon.

they want to go because we're treating them like ****, Jose wants to go because he believes that the club has no ambition, and given the previous decisions that have been made, I think he's right. There are new exciting players, but while in another club we could really celebrate that, here we get our heads down and carry on, knowing that if anyone shows promise he'll be shipped out to the highest bidder. If we have a good start to the season, I'll predict Ashley will find another way of sticking his nose in and ruining the club, again.

Sad to see enrique leave but people need to wake up !
it was always going to happen we all knew it

From coming back up weve done some sensational business ,
    £40+ million brought in ?

why do people think were like a mini man city and can just go throwing our cash around to bring in some of the ridiculous names mentioned
These players people say we should have splashed money on didnt want to come !
probably because we cant offer anything outstanding at this moment

Weve improved our squad in most areas and with pieters covering jose
and possibly another ST we look a much stronger outfit all round

With all the money made (great financially for the club !) not going to ashley like everyone keeps saying helping the long term future of our club
I wish jose the best and anyone saying liverpool is a step sideways and not up is being ridiculous
massive step to a side that will more than likely challenge for all of the competitions there in

This, with bells on. Of course I wish Carroll and Enrique hadn't gone, but other than that I'm happy. If I'm still happy in 2 months time remains to be seen :emoticon-0107-sweat

Its great to see so many opinions on the issues. I personally think that, if we get Pieters in we will be stronger than last year... Another decent striker and we will be cooking on gas.

Not as though we pushed any of them out the door is it? Carroll went for money, Nolan for money/contract, and Jose to further his career.

All depends how you view it though. I view not offering contracts in line with their ability and standing as the club pushing them out the door. Not in a "give us the money" way, but in a "we can't afford you" way. They want to be (like most footballers at clubs) at a club where there is hope of showcasing their talents on a European stage, and where they will be correctly renumerated for their talents.

everyone knew enrique was going - no argument there, but to let him go 2 days before we kick off the new season is just stupid, especially as we have no decent back up at LB (same situation for years and fergie injured or not going to be risked).

as everyone knew this was going to happen, how about getting a LB in place before we sold him, i think this term is called management!!!

theres quite a few people on here saying pieters will be coming in at LB (never seen the guy play so dont know what he's like) but our track record this window gives me no optimism that this will happen at all. If it does happen quickly great....

we got Ba but we also need another striker for this season and have known this since Jan (even though people say Ba is Carolls replacement, he cannot be depended on for a whole season, same as our other strikers - injury prone), but as yet nothing again and its just a series of rumours, let downs and no substance.....

through in ameobis new contract in the ring at the age of 29, the same age as more productive players getting the push and it is nothing else but money, or lack of it from the owner.

I,m now worn down by comments from both sides about the 35m and where it has or hasn't gone and am in total apathy about my club, as are many mates who have had season tickets for as long as some on here have been alive.

Congratulations Mr Ashley you have won, you have stripped any dignity this club ever had (first hand experience up close of Ashleys behaviour at the away game v ipswich when BR was being remembered)
So i say , you can keep your sensational buisness, just as long as the only one you own is sports direct.

I think we pushed Carroll. Without a doubt. The other two though I agree

If he was pushed, he happily boarded the plane carrying a golden parachute knowing they'd open the door.

Our track record this window ? if we get pieters (which is apparently a done deal) and 1 ST which we have plenty of time to find .... I would say this has been one of our best windows in recent years ?!?!

offloaded deadwood , brought in YOUNG promising prospects all of which have more ability than the previous players

Really dont get what you all expect , Pardew cant just make world class ST's come to a club with no european football and tipped by many for a relegation battle ?
shouting about people like gamiero and gervinho ? really think there first choices would have been us regardless of their wage ?
A lot of rose tinted glasses around today ;)

Cant agree that we pushed Carroll. The most you can do to force a player out is what we're doing to Barton, and he's still here. Carroll had a long term contract and supposedly living the dream.

Yeah, because his track record of life decisions really leads me to believe he's a soft-hearted, selfless, Geordie boy who puts the fans and club ahead of himself. People pretend they understand every action Ashley makes every day - yourself included, well I'm going out on a very thick limb and guess Carroll's decision to move to Liverpool were for his own selfish reasons. But hey, like you said, what do I know
