i live in the drug capital of the world Tel, seen it all, i don't denounce drug takers, besides i know loads, and what they go through, having seen them in action i never go there, having said that i dont disrespect them for it, i just thought i would add my view the way i see it, time and again you get invited to a party , you turn up and inevitably the one on drugs makes a tit of himself, in his reality he thinks he is the life of the party windswept and interesting,in reality everyone elses is hoping he passes out so they can **** him or her off in a taxi home.

Generally speaking there's always one or two who stand out yeah but there's probably several others who you haven't noticed.

I'm not into it nowadays like, those days are behind me now.

Very very rarely dabble these days, when I do it's nowt to do with being weak willed, it's planned ahead with organisation for a recreational night with friends. Will has nowt to do with it.

The worst drug which turns people into ****ers is alcohol imo. But there's ****ers taking every drug. Not everybody is a ****er on drugs, this just shows it's about the personality of the individual.

Totally agree. It's getting to the point now where I just can't stand being around drunk people, listening to their ****e stories and bullshit.

The only way to be around people like that is to get drunk with them. I've never felt this way around other drugs. Which I why I've never done crack or smack despite being in the company of people doing it many many times.

If I was 'weak willed' I probably would have took some but I didn't cause I'm not regardless of stereotyping. :p

I've been around people taking crack, I've let them use my kitchen to rock up, to be honest. I wouldn't allow it now, but I did just let them get on with it back then. Lads I'd grew up with, so I trusted them 100%.

Can't be around the other stuff, though. It killed my best mate. Not sure if he used it willingly or not, that's never been proved, but that's what was in his system.

I'm very much an each to their own kind of person. I'm never in these situations anymore as me and my friends have grown up. We don't have kids so probibly wouldn't stop a mate he they wanted to but don't know anybody who still dabbles. We've all been recreational users with expensive tastes. So never been in the situation where people were using needles for heroin or folk washing up coke or anything like that. No dens or hovels. More 4 star hotel rooms with a couple of the group chasing the dragon or tooting on a crack pipe and they've managed managed to avoid long term habits from them. Each to their own init, no desire to try those drugs so was easy to say no, never affected my night for not taking them. Happy lavish high times.

Sorry to hear about your mate fella. Nasty business to get deep into. Never lost a friend to something like that. Doesn't bare thinking about. :(

This was no crack den, mate. This was my home with about 6 lads, half of them would have a go on the pipe. I always disagreed with it, but never to the point where I'd judge them or fall out over it.

My best mate, he was the son of a millionaire, he had it all. Lived in a mansion and if he ever needed anything he only had to ask and it was provided for him. He had no value for money or appreciation of things, I've always kept in touch with his little brother and he's now grown up to be my best mate in his own right, and not my best mates little brother anymore.

You have met him, that's the lad who got sent to America when he was 17 and completed his pilots licence. He won't go the same way, me and his mam made sure of it.

Wasn't suggesting your house was a crack den mate <laugh>. Just setting the typical scene for my own experiences in case anybody reading thought I spent my youth hanging around in dives.

Think we're very similar in regards to drugs mate.

I also lost a friend 83, burned to death on his settee who smoked weed all bloody day many years ago and was too ****ed up on it to wake up.

I was just a kid as well. Put me off for good.

I've worked with many friends over the last 30 years who all used coke. I just don't get it myself.

What's wrong with just a few beers with your mates and then go home to the wife/girlfriend/hooker? <laugh>

That's just me though. Not the hooker bit though <laugh>
