And yet in the Commons last night, those Conservative MPs who campaigned to leave the EU all voted against an amendment that would have held Mrs May to that pledge. Every single one.

Using the office of the Presidency of the United States to flog merchandise = class. Having a Counsel who either doesn't know or flouts the law which bans that practice, and favors telling bald-faced lies which are quickly refuted = surrounding yourself with the best people available.
In truth none of these latest revelations come as any sort of surprise to anyone with half a brain having anticipated the carnage that was likely to ensure. What is more remarkable is the number of idiots who still think Trump is some sort of Messiah. But there again, there are still folk who believe in Santa & the Tooth Fairy. Actually on thinking about it, I would believe in either of those over Dumpf!
Similar can be said for the most vocal element of the Leave camp, who are adamant that the UK will benefit in ways we cannot understand even though the country's falling apart around them. What gets me about Trumpists is how they keep banging on about how he's pro-business - yet they never seem to be able to answer the question of how the dollar being in the toilet is good for businesses.
I was going to make that analogy but didn't fancy the Brexiteer-blast in response!! However, as if things weren't bad enough already the other side of the Pond it looks like Women's Rights are taking a turn for the worse with Dumpf's latest appointment!

The recent atttacks on the Speaker, John Bercow, emanating from the Pro-Brexit wing of the Tory party are particularly noxious. John Bercow 'impartial' despite revealing Remain vote http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-38947257 Now I am not a fan of the man or his nasty (ex-to-be) wife and I never imagined I would defend him, but I am on his side at the moment. It all seems to come down to allegations against Bercows impartiality...... As Speaker of the House he recently spoke out about inviting Trump to address Parliament. Based on the facts of behaviour both current and historic, to lay claims of racism and sexism against the new POTUS is hardly outrageous and well within his professional remit. Whether or not his thoughts can be viewed as hypocritical are another matter - bearing in mind other unsavoury characters who have received an invitation. Either way, it is hardly an issue to make his position untenable. Now it appears he has had the audacity to pin his colours to the Remain mast - 7 months after the Referendum, after the Article 50 debates and any Parliamentary influence that could have been exerted. The man surely has a right to his opinion at this stage - and is particularly well positioned to highlight the lies that were of such significance to influencing public opinion back in June. Once again, the Pro-Brexit lobby are again calling for his head. Personally, at a time when the UK gutter press are publicly crucifying the Judiciary and similar attacks are emanating in the US from the White House, I think there is a desperate need to defend the man and his right to free speech.
Personally, I think Trump is a detestable ****. But, I'm sorry, Bercow is wrong about this, imo. Whether we like it or not, Trump is the democratically elected ( according to their electoral rules) president of the USA. To try and stop the man who holds that office from receiving the traditional invitation for him to address parliament is an insult to the office of President, and to the USA itself.
