I was gonna say you can't have booed Sir Les but then we did didn't we in a jokey way. Can anyone remember? He came back and got a massive cheer from the crowd, followed by his first touch being met with deafening boos. He took it as intended and laughed his socks off. Waddler was still the best when he came back with Sheff Wed. We were in the Milburn paddock and giving him dogs abuse. He just turned and waved his fingers like a conductor. Got a massive cheer and round of applause for being such a good sport.

Why on earth would you boo every player that leaves? They don't all swear on the monument that they'll never leave the city of Newcastle. Would you boo Nobby Solano?

Just thought of him after I replied above. Still think a few of the boo boys would give him a rough time, but I'd welcome him back.

    This.

Enrique did not jump ship, like Duff, Martins, Beye etc., when we were relegated, but stayed around and helped to get us back up, at first time of asking.

I firmly believe that all of our current problems imo stem from the sale of Carroll, who is adamant that he was pushed. (Hard to be certain who to believe, but Ashley/Llambias do not have a great track record when it comes to veracity, do they?). At the time, Nobby and Barton were about to sign new contracts, but when AC went they both said they would wait till the summer, to see if the £35m would be re-invested in the team, as Alain de Pardieu said he had been promised by Ashley would be the case.

Although he has remained silent on the point, I suspect JE did the same, and who could blame him? Spain's first choice left full back (Capdevilla?) is getting on a bit, and now is the time for Enrique to be pushing for a place in the squad. Is that likely to happen if he were to remain at NUFC, playing at best for a top ten finish, at worst in a relegation dogfight? I don't think so!

It is every professsional footballer's dream to play for his country. Jose's chances of doing so are improved greatly by playing for Liverpool, who are a much higher profile club than NUFC, and who have every chance of being playing in in either the Champions League, or the Europa League, the season after next.

So. Best of luck Jose, and thanks for the memories. The Nottingham Forest goal will live long in my memory, as will probably be the case for most of the Toon Army.

I would have at the time. He said he wanted to leave to be closer to his family and ended up going to West Ham.

na, i never bother booing ex player unless its someone like bellamy who i just genuinely dislike. jose stuck by us in the championship and he didn't give it loads of badge kissing while trying to engineer a move. circumstances changed and he got fed up with and said as much. it happens. let him move on. we got what we paid for him back so we've done alright i suppose. i won't boo carroll either. geordie lad that helped us out of the championship. the lad is destined for teh top and the top aint here whether we like it or not. we got damn good money for him and i only hate liverpool because they've bought our two best players.

Dont like either but I dont care enough to be really angry about seeing them either. Probably also to do with that I was a bit younger when they were here and didnt know what was going on so much with the club.

Gotta say I hate Bellamy with a passion. Dyer not so much. Although he was a prick while here and played his part in Bobby's downfall, at least he was man enough to admit as much in a recent interview. Went way up in my estimation.

I won't boo any players that have helped NUFC as much as they can in the past. Most of our ex players put in a good shift for us when needed.

Owen of course didn't help us, or even try when he ws playing for us therefore I will boo him.
