    Yeah he's right but you win **** all without decent defenders.

    As for Maldini, i'd agree. That Milan back 4 of Tassoti, Costcurta, Baresi and Maldini was the best iv'e ever seen.

    Only one that comes close would be France's back 4 of 1998-2000

    EDIT: think Fabio Cannavaro won it in 2006. Since then its been the Messi and Ronaldo show.

    I agree. it will be a long time before players who are really world class get that award again as its the messi v ronaldo popularity contest

    Nope, Kaka won it in 2007 after Cannavaro then it has been Messi or Ronaldo ever since. Hard to dispute that they've dominated football over the last 10 years though and been the standout players every single season since that year.

    Said, you can't be a fan 1 day then not the next. Team is fighting with big clubs like Liverpool, City & United. Everyone has to be united or have no chance. Also have Spurs, everyone is in a fight and behind their team.

    The headline is rather out of context.

    Yeah, more prestige in making the top 3 of the Ballon'Dor which he did twice.

    2nd to Messi in 2010.
    £rd behind Messi and Ronaldo in 2012
    Xavi did it 3 times as well and even Torres made it to 3rd in 2008

    Outside the BIG2 it was only the Spanish lads in the mix between 2008 and 2012.
