He's still the same. He drinks in The Two Brewers when he's in Croydon. I have friends who live a couple of doors away and I get a text saying "Captain's in". He dedicated 'Eloise' and 'Smash it Up' to my daughter of the same name a few years ago at a festival. Wherever he plays, you'll find him in the bar having a pint or two with the punters beforehand. Some of his solo stuff is pretty good [NOT HAPPY TALK].
Football and music? It has to involve the incomparable Kirsty MacColl and England 2 Columbia 0. Her drummer is the fabulous Dave Ruffy of The Ruts. Recommended.
