MP's have passed a motion of No confidence in the FA. The organisation is run by a bunch of dinosaurs who have no interest in reforming. Personally I'd like to see more fans being represented on the board at the FA and there should be regular consultation with organised fan groups about the issues in the game from a fan level. Also would like to see more money given to grassroots football, maybe a % of TV income ringfenced to devleop the game at a local level Thoughts ? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38920489
So anyway, one of the complaints is that there are not enough women in footballs hierachy. The Barnsley chairman who was/is on the FA panel said women should not be given the jobs just because they are women. I have to agree. If they dont get the game or grasp the spirit of it then unless they are filling positions like marketing or being a secretery at the FA i dont see a role for them. I dont want the game getting a woman's perspective if in theory it means the game gets 'softer'. I doubt they mean the marketing and secretery jobs and more top end where say they are on a judging panel for red cards etc? a woman might think a little tap is a leg breaker whilst a man doesnt? you get my thinking no doubt. Ultimately whether the world likes it or not, Football is a mans game when it comes to watching it. The Womens game is a tamed down version of the game everytime i have seen it. Why would i settle for that when i have got the upgraded version on tap, in Mens football? Sometimes women should just chill and enjoy the event instead of thinking by adding the female touch it can be improved. If you think im being mean to women then think of it like this....what if every position in the FA was given to women apart from the odd token gesture male thrown in? within 10 years we will have teams wearing skirts, trophies in a metallic pink tone and actual handbags for when things kick off etc etc Sorry but im not game for it.
Anyway, in all seriousness, I think the women's game should be given bigger slice of the pie, but overall it's never going to compete with the men's game.
