I'm sure he will be given a test, but reading his own words, it seems he knows a full time return is unlikely.
Just watched some fantastic footage that has emerged from a guy in the stands of the 1994 San Marino GP. Absolutely fascinating yet terrifyingly haunting.
I tell you what. Williams seem to be making some personnel changes that I hope will get them back where they belong imho. Not next year, but hopefully from 2018 they can start to move back up the grid. I love the team.
It feels to me that they are putting wheels in motion. If they steal that designer/aero guy from from Toro Rosso they would be well on their way
I think the part in 'Senna' that gives me the most chills is when Roland Ratzenberger is talking to one of his team about how hard he's pushing the car just before he goes out and dies.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/38971214 Now Bernie is safely under lock and key, the Brussels Eurocrats have decided to take a couple of brave pills and do something that should have been done a long time ago.
Hopefully something actually gets done this time. They spend so many years just sitting round a table and never actually do anything. What happened about the FIA and them agreeing with EU not to have any stake in the commercial part of F1. Then CVC selling and FIA agreeing to the sale and thus earning millions due to their shares, (that they agreed with the EU they would not buy!), that they paid a fraction of their value for. Are the EU investigating that????? Or will this be another big business paying fines to get out of criminal action.......... Laws should be applied equally no matter how much money you have!
Interesting! Merc will be very strong again no doubt. Are we expecting Ferrari to underperform or surprise?
Is this the James Allison who steered Renault from world champions to a back marker, And made things at Ferrari worse? Good, Mercedes need downgrading
Sorry to rain on the parade but I think Merc might actually be in the lead on Power Unit (no tokens and they already had most powerful), Aero (they were so far ahead of everyone else they should have started aero tests in tunnel very early and taken advantage of limited hrs testing in tunnel), only thing that might hold them back, but only slightly is the 'trick' suspension that Ferrari are kicking off about. McHonda will be interesting, I hope Honda have found power and not at the expense of reliability. They keep going on about 'big risk' but I am not sure if they are just sand bagging. They have never in the past been a team to down play expectations. I really hope they can give Alonso even a semi decent car. Can't wait to see how the cars go, the new driver pairings etc. Hoping for a good season and the new aero rules and wider tyres do actually give better racing but I doubt it. Is DRS still in for 2017?
Sadly yes I think it is, although Ross Brawn called it 'artificial' and wants to avoid artificial solutions to F1, so hopefully it will go ASAP, because it is an absolute joke.
The problem with DRS is it's implementation. If everyone had the same set time of usage per race so it could be used in defence or attack at the drivers choice, then I wouldn't have an issue with it
