Hello, troops. No tip from me re today’s action – regular readers hide your disappointment stoically. But a quick heads-up that old Saint Nick has got Volnay de Thaix entered in another ‘Pertemps Qualifier’. This time down in Devon on Sunday. You may remember the forum’s favourite trainer had this old boy set to run in another qualifier last month but that cruel mistress, Mother Nature, intervened and the meet got abandoned. Boo…hiss… I remain convinced that he’s ‘up to something’ re Volnay de Thaix with the overall aim being the Final of the series, next month, at Cheltenham. As I said before he’s now on 150 down 8 lbs from his last run over hurdles. Can see the old boy, at the weekend, coming home in 5th or 6th place, getting a further ratings reduction and then being ‘highly competitive’ in the old Final. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more… Good luck, all.
Ludlow 3-10 Uhlan Bute ... 8-1 and drifting like a barge. That's ok, Uhlan, translated from Persian means "runs on" (not really, but he's in my tracker so has to be backed!)
Alfie Spinner 4.30 Carlisle 100/30 Won really well at Wincanton. The second has since won on Sunday. Should jump out and make all.
I am advised by you-know-who, that Uhlan means "a cavalryman armed with a lance as a member of various European armies." Origin mid 18th century: via French and German from Polish (h)ulan, from Turkish oğlan ‘youth, servant’. Anyway, good luck Reebok!
It's usually me that picks a drifter, Reebs - currently 16's on BET365. Could be the value pick of the day.
What a morning - bleedin' car overheated, had to get a tow truck out. Turns out it was all caused by the fan, would you believe it! Couple that I like in each opener, which could be a nice value double. Ludlow 1.40 Bomber Command Carlisle 1.50 Zalvados One worth a shout later on might be Dick Darsie in the 3.20 at Carlisle Also, as it's so quiet, this might be of interest: http://www.attheraces.com/stable-tours/fergal-o'brien Good Luck.
Bored, so going to chuck a speculative tenner @ Carlise. In truth these would be better place only prospects but I'll do them to win @ BSP to make it worthwhile (possibly). 3.20 Celtic Tune x 5 3.55 Mr Selby x 2 4.30 Rigadin De Beauchene x 3
