But it showed what was allowed to happen under the likes of Bruce. There is no way that the team would have been allowed to take their foot off the league gas if Marco had been manager back then, that's exactly what happened, Meyler owned up to it in a recent interview, also we'd have won the FA Cup, of that I have no doubt.

I think people generally are just happy to have something different to watch finally. The players can learn something new finally as well.

We were getting a pacier style with Phelan but the defence was just weak. And we still needed to find more upfront. It's still early days with this but we seem to be developing more attacking options. Crosses seem to be more carefully aimed at the danger area rather than just firing them in hard and hoping it comes off. Defensively we seem to be covering better and intercepting more to me.

Silva reacted very cooly when we got the first, not much reaction. He only really reacted when the second went in. And he only smiled on camera when it was 2 minutes left and won.

From an interview with Curtis Davis....

“I know when a new manager comes in sometimes they can just watch from the outside and see what people do ‘Oh, he’s good at that’. The manager didn’t wait for that at all. He just literally came in, he’s watched the videos. He literally, physically was grabbing people – ‘I want you here, I want you there’. Set-pieces, team shape everyday, and that’s what we’ve pretty much done.

When MP was still boss and we had dropped into the relegation zone I doubt that anybody looking ahead to the last three games + the upcoming Arsenal game would have given us any chance of getting even a point out of them. At the moment we've got 4 points and if the prediction thread is anything to go by we will be getting at least 1 point on Saturday, such is the optimism that MS has instilled into the team and supporters in his short employment. As soon as I saw the first interview with Marco I had a good feeling that he was the man that would keep us up, he hasn't disappointed at all, and I don't expect him to in the future. I just hope that we can hang on to him at the end of the season as he's definitely the one that would take us to the next level.

How long is Evandro's contract? That would be a good indication as to how long Marco expects to be here.

That's a good indicator that he plans to be here after the end of the season, obviously things can change, for example if he finds that he can't cope with Ehaw, but that's good news for me.

I was thinking the same thing - if he saves us from the big relly, will he stay another season to see how far he can get us? Staying up may be a 'miracle', but finishing in the top half is a CV bonus...

After what Leicester did last season anything's possible, and I think Marco will go on to prove to be far superior to any of the managers that Leicester have ever had.

Since when has a club ever signed a player on the number of years a manager expects to be there?

Ludicrous idea to suggests any correlation at all?

His stay with us has more to do with his results, better offers, or cash than a scheme to recruit players. Contracts for players have nothing to do with managers, and are about age , wages, ans what the player wants.

Marco Silva will get plenty of offers near the end of his contract so I think the club need to be willing to spend big on his and his assistant's salaries.

With all this new born hope at city spare a thought for SB at Villa starting to come under fire for his tactic's and you guessed it his substitutions, with they loss at Forest on Saturday SB subbed two strikers for two midfielders at 1-1 and then conceded a Forest 93th min winner ( to be fair Villa were down to 10 men), lots of Villa fans very unhappy with his tactics at the moment.
