This is not an attempt at a WUM just more of a musing.

How do you think that you are going to fair this season? All of you best players (Carroll,Enrique,Nolan possibly Barton) are all leaving and your having them replaced by 1/2 of the french league.

Mike Ashely is a F*****g idiot who is destroying one of the most famous names in English football.

Alan Pardew is just a yes man who hasn't got the balls to stand up for anything.

'I keep smiling at him, hoping he will stay' Great management there!

If you still had the core of the players that got you promoted i think you would have had a reasonable chance of a top 10 finish, currently im worried that your in for another relegation battle. The players that may save you- Collocini, Guitierez, Ben Arfa, Demba Ba, Tiote*.

Just reminds me of the Hicks and Gilette situation. If Ashley left you could start rebuilding properly but all hes interested in are ££ signs.

Good luck for the upcoming season but i think if you achieve 13th/14th then that would be a reasonable position. <ok>

Carroll went for stupid money so he had to be sold and we're still looking for another striker, Pieters is hopefully coming into replace Enrique who was poor towards the end of the season, Nolan was past it and wouldn't have been starting for us especially as he stopped scoring once Carroll left as he was getting the tap ins from his knock downs and Cabaye is twice the player he is. Barton want's to stay and i can see him staying so our team is stronger than it was last season with the likes of Ben Arfa coming back and Tiote getting more Premiership experience

I agree with everything except a relegation battle. We have a bit of fight still in us and far more quality, so we won't get dragged into it IMO. But I'll still be happy once we hit 40 points

If we get pieters, and another striker, I think our teams in a much stronger position than last year.

If we dont, could well be another elegation battle

Haha like the confidence but i think we'll turn you over! Always look forward to Lpool v New matches, always seem to be entertaining and the 4-3 matches are instilled in my childhood memories.

I think our squad is actually STRONGER this season and has the ability to play with a bit more pace and flair then last year.

Carroll was a loss but it was also very good money. Money won. We need another striker to come in.

Enrique wants to go and get in the frame for the Spanish national team. We can't offer him that ability whilst Liverpool can. Seems we may be getting the Dutch international Pieters as a replacement.

Nolan has been replaced by a better, faster and more creative player in Cabaye.

We may lose Barton but also have Obertan and Marveux to cover that position.

I'd hope for gradual league improvement this season and finish 10/11th would be fine.

Cheers for the well wishing <ok>. But honestly despite the disgrace that is Mike Ashley, most of us are okay with how the team is right now. Nobody likes getting rid of good players but we have the likes of Ben Arfa, Tiote and Cabaye in midfield even if we end up losing Barton and Ba is a decent striker who will hopefully get a new buddy up front soon too.

Most of us are pretty calm and hopeful because we're used to shock decisions these days and used to the press making it look like we're about to implode every 5 minutes.

I just feel if Barton leaves as has Nolan then your 2 best players are gone.

I do like the look of Ben Arfa though, cracking little player.

Money cant score world class headers from speculative crosses, or hammer the ball in from outside the box

Not gunna lie no, i dont watch a great deal of Newcastle matches, i like the club though, always have. I just hope that all the Frenchies coming over for you are going to be up to the standard of the PL, if they are not you may have a slow start, which for you could be problematic youneed a quick start <ok>

I'm a massive, massive fan of Nolan. As a leader he is fantastic. But as a footballer he's tosh!

Nolan bagged goals in the box but was otherwise the invisible man. He is basically the reason Tiote got so many yellows last season cos he was getting his ass covered. Certainly wasn't one of our best; the best last season were Coloccini, Tiote and Barton. Maybe Enrique too, but he started giving less of a toss towards the end.

Tiote is a beast of a player, very impressed with his contributions. The question you've got to ask yourselfs is

'If he has another great season, Chelsea offer 15mill is he gone?' unfortunatley with your owners hes gone extremely quickly.

Another thing, Ashley seems intent on selling players but, apart from Carroll i wouldnt say that you've got value for money for the ones sold. £6millionish for Enrique is cheap, even if he is in the last yr of his contract.

Good question and I suppose possible. My view though is that Tiote is on a 6 and a half year beast of a contract and supposedly when asked by the press if he wanted to join his idol Essien and friend Drogba he said: "No, why don't they just come up here instead?" then said he didn't like big cities anyway. So it seems likely that with such a massive contract and a willingness to stay, he shouldn't be on his way out any time soon. Hopefully I won't be forced to eat those words though.

Fair enough <ok> these are the sort of players that need to be kept so that a club can keep progressing.
