I know nothing about this stuff, so just did a znet speed test and got 8892 kbps om adsl 2. How do I fare?
Brum, are yo on the glue? `Ping' When a Submarine sends out a sonar ranging ping to a ship, the closer the ship, the faster the return of the ping. Much the same as a network ping. Please stop now.
PING = Portable Internet Navigation Guide It measures the speed not the time. 50 is the highest speed, seeing 500 is either an error on your part or kind of like having an amp that goes to 11 People who have been on this site a number of years will tell you I have worked in the industry since leaving school and work for a leading company in this field who were pioneers of such technology I do wish people like you did not come on these type of threads giving out false information. Leave it to the experts mate
you are the one giving false info lol and this was playing games years back with yanks and japanese people, with broadband ping will be quicker but i have seen it in the 100s ms in the past when i was on dial up, my point was, on dial up i was getting 100`s but to you thats better than broadband lol
hmm and speed not time .10ms = milliseconds see what that says, SECONDS, not Bytes, or Bits which would be speed.
ping stands for "Packet InterNet Grouper", It was named after the "ping" sound that SONAR makes, since ping sends out an ICMP ECHO_Request and waits for an ICMP ECHO_Reply to come.Ping'(also known as Protocol Inter Network Group), is a computer network tool used to test whether a particular host is reachable across an IP network; it is also used to self test the network interface cards of the computer.ping estimates the round-trip time, in milliseconds, and records any packet loss, and prints a statistical summary when finished
PING is measured in milliseconds amigo, it's the time it takes a signal to go and return. The lower the number, the better, honest <ASKASUBMARINESONAROPERATOR>
