Some good posts on here this morning - apart from the usual sore loser bleating nonsense from Quentin ... but let's put that to bed first ..38 games last season and the last 9 of the season before. Leicester City had the best form and amassed the most points in the EPl over a 47 game period - that was no fluke ... that was form and acheivement - ffs Quentin even wanted his lot to be give the 'new invincibles' title for 10 games unbeaten in the league whilst being the whipping boys in a UCL group that contained none of the 'big guns' <doh>

Now on to the sensible stuff.

Ranieri is currently being far too loyal to those that were part of the winning formula last season. Liked Stan's reference to overweight grandad's because that is indeed what our central defensive pairing are starting to look like and the first 2 goals yesterday were directly attributable to that- but it goes deeper - Dinkwater and Vardy are also out of form and Mahrez is lacking in confidence .. but still has that bit of class when he can get on the ball without 3 players immediately pouncing on him.

Huge week this week for us - cup replay aagainst Derby and then the game at Swansea at the weekend - would like to see Amartey come in as one of the centre backs - that's where he played for Copehagen last year and where he plays for Ghana - personally I'd bring him in for Wes Morgan and let him partner Huth (for the latter's experience). Fuchs also had a poor game against United - lost the runner too many times - but he has been one of our better performers this season tbf.

I'd be tempted to bench Vardy and play with Musa on the right, Gray on the lef and Slimani through the middle with Mahrez just behind as the main creative player.

Drinkwater's position also needs consideration - be tempted to bring Mendy in personally.

One real positive from yesterday was Ndidi, who looks like he could be very good indeed on the few games he has had to date.

    Gonna be 'fun' <laugh>

  2. Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri is now favourite with bookmakers to be the next Premier League manager sacked. (Daily Telegraph)

I bet that Mr Shawaddywaddy is asking himself "I Wonder Why?" LCFC have ****ed up so very badly, and "When" he should sack his gormless manager?

    <laugh> I'd forgotten about that

Leicester win the league by 10 clear points and it's a 'fluke', whilst HIAG wants Spurs to be crowned the new 'invincibles' for going on a 10 game unbeaten streak

    <rofl>

  4. Exactly, Matth. No one else saw it. I did, and I am getting hounded for it.

Why is it that ****wits always shoot the messenger when they are told things they don't want to hear?

  5. Link, please?

Let me save you the trouble... you won't find one, because it's complete bollocks, what you assert.

What I actually suggested was that, given how much more competitive it is in today's game, compared to how things were when Arsenal went on their so-called "Invincibles" run by being unbeaten in an entire season, Spurs ought to be considered to have achieved the same level of invincibility should we go half the season unbeaten.

How many games in a season, and what is half of that number, Pixie? It isn't 10, is it?

Christ! you do walk into these!

    <wah> Stop blubbing.

You didn't say anything about relegation, and you predicted their spiral right before they won the league.

It was yet another monumental **** up from you. Standard across this whole forum <ok>

So you've just claimed it was bollocks, and then in the next sentence admitted that you wanted Spurs crowned 'Invincibles' for their short unbeaten streak.

and you reckon I walk into these things <rofl>

Thank you Quentin - you have just admitted that Leicester City won the league at a time when the EPL is at it's most competitive ... so 38 games in such a climate is obviously no fluke ... you are priceless when it comes into disproving your own bleatings in the very next breath .. you definitely are the 'champion' on that perticular front <rofl>

    <laugh> What a spectacular self-owning.

Maybe @Hoddle Is A God can explain how Leicester fluked the league when it was by his own admission, the most competitive it's ever been ?

(This should be a laugh lads :) )

  10. Nice try, Bambi.

You know very well, as does everyone who has eyes in their heads with which to read, that I have repeatedly asserted that last season was a fluke due to the coincidence of several inter-linking events, principle among which was the under-achievement of several clubs for various reasons.

The fluke arose for the very reason that the Prem is usually so competitive.

But, as I say, nice try.

    Ahem.

Little ol' Leicester still won the ****ing thing. Something Spurs haven't done since Christ was a boy, and Arsenal don't look like doing anytime soon either.

    Jus' sayin', like.

Has there ever been a faster self-owning in this site's history? I very much doubt it!

You really are one of a kind, Pixie! And not in a good way.

For anybody with eyes in their head with which to read, they will have seen you say that Spurs should be awarded the 'invincibles' title for a short unbeaten run in the same season that you just described as being the most competitive it's ever been. Yet in that ultra competitive season, Leicester somehow fluked it ?

How does that work HIAG ?

Oh dear <laugh> Forrest has got the shovel and is digging fast here.

You tried to say that they league was 'usually' competitive, but wasn't last season and that's why Leicester fluked it, but in the same breath you tried to claim that Spurs should have been awarded an 'invincible' title in the same season, which you described as being the most competitive it's ever been.

So it's either the most competitive it's been or it wasn't competitive and Leicester fluked it ?

    Which one is it ?

Your 'explanation' merely confirms that you have fcuked up grandly Quentin ... 47 consectutive games amassing the most points in the division of any team over that period is a fluke ... going 10 games unbeaten whilst having your arses firmly handed to you and going out of the Champions League before the final group game gets you the title of "Invincibles" ... you are soooooooo funny Quentin <rofl>

  16. Archy, please don't fall into the same trap as these idiots!

No one is denying that LCFC won the title.

What these idiots are trying to do - and failing miserably - is to rewrite history in order to deny me any credit for having predicted that LCFC's success last season would come at the cost of (and I quote from my actual post of 17 January 2016) "complete and utter humiliation" in the following season.

I didn't merely predict that LCFC would finish outside the top 4, or that LCFC would finish mid-table, I predicted that they would be "completely and utterly humiliated."

At the time, I was pilloried by these idiots for making this prediction. Well, as much as they may find the fact distasteful to their egos, I was right and they were wrong.

    <wah> ^^^^ rattled

Explain to us how the league can be both the most competitive it's ever been and at the same time, lack the competition to allow Leicester to fluke it.

  20. Oh, dear! Either you are being obtuse on purpose, in which case you are engaging in the poorest form of wummery, or you are truly dense. I strongly suspect the latter.

Let me spell it out for you.

The Prem is far more competitive than it was back in the days when Arsenal went unbeaten all season. I doubt that anyone will deny that.

But, despite that fact, last season was a fluke, for all of the reasons that I have previously highlighted.

Or do you assert that Chelsea, United, Pool, City and even Spurs finishing where they did in the league was fully anticipated?

The season was a fluke. The fact that the Prem is far more competitive than ever before emphasises the fluke, it does not detract from the fact. Neither are the two concepts mutually exclusive on a logical basis.

You can keep on compounding your ****wittedness by denying the truth in what I say, but it will never alter the fact that I am right and you have ****ed up, badly.
