Yeah not sure why the fact a player is being bought for more than their club paid for them means much.
I am well aware I'm not posting anything incredible, as that's my exact point in response to people scorning us spending more on a player than he was bought for.
Is that an Allam measured 36 hours, or a standard 36 hours? Just want to know whether I should set my clock or my calendar.
Would love to have him for the Arsenal match, but I've got a feeling FIFA or UEFA (whoever it is) won't want to set a precident.
If there was nothing wrong and was a legitimate case for appeal then they won't be setting a precedent. Besides they might be happy with the size of the brown envelope from both parties.
I find it strange how little coverage there has been of this in UK media, the only reports seem to come from France.
You could be right, but the delay was purely down to FIFA only sitting once a week I hear for this type of thing, so hopefully it will go through. There were one or two that went through in a similar way last week, who obviously made their request earlier than we did.
Were they national or international transfers? Has this ever happened before? It could be anything. The FA probably have Ehabs email address marked as spam so missed it before the deadline.
5 or 6 years ago something similar happend between Sporting and Nice. Sporting did everything in time, signed the contract with Nice and rescinded with Yannick Djaló. Somehow nice missed sending the documents in time and none of the teams said it was their player. Fifa ruled the player was of Nice and they had to pay Sporting the transfer even he couldn't play the rest of the season. *My english today is a calamity.
I don't think it's all that rare that a deal needs to be ratified by FIFA after the window has closed, for various reasons, Bassem Srarfi to Nice was confirmed after the last FIFA meeting on Thursday.
BREAKING NEWS Martin Caceres is flying to England from Italy today for talks with Premier League clubs. Southampton are interested in signing the Uruguay defender. He is a free agent after leaving Juventus last summer. Caceres passed an AC Milan medical last week but failed to agree personal terms.
