They remind me of when Mourinho was there the first time, top quality all over the pitch, cast iron confidence, great manager, huge strength in depth. They piss all over everyone else in the league.

Agreed, they're really great to watch.

More and more teams including us are adopting a similar formation now. Bournemouth, Palace, Watford amongst others. They've been a breath of fresh air IMO.

Great to see our Marcos thoroughly contributing to them winning the league as well.

What a through ball by Rodwell to Defoe, he done that against Tottenham, as well.

Seb should have been sent off. We got lucky there.

Aye, agreed. And Jones probably fouled their keeper for our first goal.

Great to see Palace absolutely shot after that result.

Big Sam looked clueless in that interview and can't imagine the players will want to play in front of that crowd in the immediate future.

They're in just as much **** as us and the more the merrier.

He did like, if there's one thing you don't expect from Allardyce it's for him to be at a loss for what to say. It feels like they're entering their crisis period as we leave ours and I doubt they'll handle it as well as we do, we're always in bloody crisis we're used to it.

I'll go with Shearer and say, "Sunderland were absolutely brilliant". Can't argue with the guy. Defoe is simply fantastic and I am so grateful he plays for us because he could still do a job for anyone in this league.

Only two goals off the top scorer, quite amazing considering his lack of service.

He looked shell shocked. If your manager looks like that it's not really putting a great message over to your own players.

As you say we're used to the siege mentality so when he came to us some of our lads were ready (ish) for the fight. Benteke, Puncheon, Townsend, Zaha are good players but aren't exactly battlers who you might want in a relegation battle.

I'll be the first to hold my hand up when we signed the guy and thought he might be a mercenary but the guy is top top class

I remember my main thought was that he was the twat who crippled Craig Gordon coming here for a payday in the spotlight before retiring, but not only is he a goal machine he's one of the most professional footballers you'll ever see.

Aye we talk a lot about signing good players to the North East so we know what to do send them to stupid places first that don't understand football. So next year we should be signing loads from China :)

To be fair to Townsend he was by some margin our best player in the last couple of months last season. Doesn't seem the same player this season for Palace though so may have just been great form.

Just seen match on MotD, 2 things:

1 - Larsson should have been off. Oh well :)

2 - Finishing. Holy ****, your finishing was awesome today Kone on the ground, NDong what a strike (turned the game from a tight one to a walk-over it felt) and Defoe just astounding. Can't defend against that.
