Seems the 6ft plus Chelsea defence gathers together to snuff out the opposition win possession than break out....how comes it didn't work against us?
They said something about having a bad day!

We've outplayed them in 3 halves of football this season and we're the only team to beat them since they went to 3 at the back. We'll almost certainly not catch them this season but we need to get ready to go next season and stop drawing so many games. At present, we've lost less than them.

  3. Lads, if results go the right way, this weekend, Arsenal could finish the weekend in 5th spot!

I know you lads will tell me not to tempt fate, and that there's still a long way to go, etc, but you've got to understand that for someone like me, such crumbs are wum-gold dust.

Would you rather Arsenal had won or lost? This isn't about wumming or hating Arsenal, this is about catching Chelski. I was therefore hoping that Arsenal would win and am upset that they lost. Surely what is most important is Spurs winning, and in that respect doesn't it make sense to want Arsenal to have won?

On a lighter note, Everton are catching ManU... come on the toffees!

  5. Any true Spurs fan would always rather that Arsenal lose.

I thought that was a given?

I didn't have Sunderland down for 4 away goals in half a season, never mind half a match:huh:

If this had been the last game of the season and we were 2 points behind chelsea...you seriously saying that you'dstill want the goons to lose ?

Vims point is valid and he is a true fan so I gues you might have just thought wrong

  10. What did I say?

If you recall, when practically everyone else on this board was preparing a noose to hang themselves with, I suggested that Sunderland would be a banana-skin for a lot of sides, this half of the season.

Another 3 goals and Sunderland will go above palace!
I get what you are saying but for us to have any chance to catch Chelsea we needed to beat Sunderland.

**** me! You guys really do need to loosen up!

Vimhawk has a downer on me - he always has had, don't know why, I've always put it down to him being humourless - but for pities sake! can you not see the humour in what I wrote?

    Seriously?

Please don't turn this board into a place were only humourless twats come to post!

  14. See! There you go, again!

What is it with this delusion that we were ever going to win the title?

We're going to struggle to hold on to second spot, let along catch Chelsea!

I'd be over the moon if we manage to finish in the top 4 again. To do that, we were always going to have to displace one of Arsenal, Liverpool or United (it being almost certain that both Chelsea and City - in my opinion - were going to take up two of those spots). Therefore, our aim must, surely, be to keep ahead of those teams for as long as we can?

  15. I wasn't seriously suggesting that anyone isn't a true Spurs fan. Anyone who remembers my comments on the meaning of "true fan" a couple of years back, will know that I was being facetious.

I keep forgetting, that for some of you I have to telegraph my humour a little bit further ahead.

HIAG - I honestly appreciate your more upbeat postings of recent times, I genuinely do. Whatever I've written today is specifically in response to the content of a post, not what you have written. I would have said the same regardless of who said it. I may have had difficulty with you in the past, but whatever I have written today is nothing to do with that. I think I have a sense of humour. Anyway, peace!

Definitely, and of course I would take second now. I think the disappointment after that match was because if we play like we know we can, we should have enough quality to beat teams like Sunderland that's all.
