You can download porn very fast and upload your gay porn not as fast. :)

Lower the ping the better, yours is good :)

Very dangerous number here. I suggest neutralising your router by pouring a glass of water over the top of it.

Higher the ping the better - 50 being the highest <ok>

No. The lower the ping the better. `Ping' is the `round trip' time from transmitting to receiving, the closer to the BT exchange, the more throughput and faster your Broadband will be.
I am 1km away from the exchange, I get about 18 Mb/s DL speed.

    Where you get that from??

Thats the problem nowadays with folk who think they know what they are talking about because they googled it and told their mates and people take it as gospel

I get ****ing awful speeds: 0.48M down, 0.24M up but I'm over a mile from the nearest village. Still manage to download about 4GB/day in torrents.

Ping time is the time it takes to get a reply from another machine, the lower the better.

ok so why is a higher ping better?

lets say i am playing an online game, my ping is 50 (which is not the highest btw, i have seen 500 before) this means it takes .05 seconds for whatever you are playing to show up on your screen from theirs, if their ping is 10ms .01 seconds they see things 40ms quicker than you, which = instant death, if you have a 500 thats 1/2 a second lag, compared to a 10th of a second lag with someone with 10ms.

I just cant see how a higher ping can be beneficial at all (as its not), but please, explain if it is, I am all ears.
