If anyone can afford to give clubs some money then it's the overpaid players, not the clubs or the fans. It's the players that end up with the vast majority of cash and they all seem happy to bleed their clubs dry. Players demand huge wages even when it is obvious that the clubs can't afford it. So who's really to blame for the financial mess of most clubs?
I agree there causal fan, there is no problem donating money from football fans, but club wise there is a problem as you can't just give money away for nothing, there are implications tax wise and FA & FAW rules. We must account for this money given, in what category would this fall? They are not a charity, and we are not one also, selling the buy out clause on taylor maybe ? Finally despite all our troubles previously, did one club help us at all directly? Thought not as it's probably against long established rules, it's akin to tesco helping a local retailer because one has made money the other lost, it's just not going to happen!
you are not giving you are loaning until they get on their feet again, no club knows this better than us and seeing as we are in a position to help a fellow welsh club then we should. we were quick enough to borrow money when we were going out of buisiness and now its time to give something back.
Dai, we are not a bank, and how do we quantify a loan of cash to another club, no other club has done this at all ever, did palace get offered cash to tide them over instead of admin from fellow London clubs ? Did we or anyone offer Chester anything to avoid liquidation ? Really it's not lending a mate say a grand to help pay the bills, this is a business and we cannot just hand money over if we feel sorry for them ! And let's face it, who would we be loaning money too, no sod knows who will own Wrexham in a few weeks time! Abers idea has far more merit than anything else as will be helping in an indirect way, giving money away is fine if you are an individual but from a company perspective with shareholders, the tax man and the FA and premier league to answer for is far different.
I'd much sooner see us loan then a few players for free, surely that will save them something and the likes of Casey Thomas, Dai Cornell and Daniel Alfei aren't getting games for us anytime soon.
I couldnt help but comment on this little beauty by you Dai. So by your own admission Wrexham are up **** creek and have a very strong chance of going bust......and you want to loan them £2m Dai, what do you think happens to the outstanding loan if they go into administration?
Sorry Aber my old mucker but I'm getting worried about you and all the sense you've been talking lately, your earlier post included. What's happened to the mad bugger I know ?
agree aber...wrexham use to be the no1 club for years, some on here would rather see them go under, they are no football fan in my book. ..£2 million is peanuts to us now and it would be money well spent for the future of welsh players,...people have short memories of when we were in dire straights.
Dai again you are deluding yourself, where on this thread has anyone even mentioned they want Wrexham to go through ? And how can the club just give away money ? We are not a charity, we can't loan them money, we are not a bank, do you think the swans have a creditors licence to do that ? Really I hope Wrexham pull through this, but it's not going to be through other clubs that this will happen, their ground and training ground has been secured, their supporters trust is getting the best people they can involved in this, these people are Wrexham fans like our trust are swans fans! Now stop spouting rubbish, the club cannot help them directly, they have to do the majority themselves!
I want Wrexham to pull through and want both them, Newport and Cardiff in the Premier League with us as soon as possible. Hope that's plain enough for any doubters on my stance. Cymru Am Byth
i am not deluding my self at all. i was one of the fans who worked tirelessly raising funds for the swans in our hour of need and not the once i may add, we got help from other clubs, we were once under the wing of liverpool who helped us a great deal, i know what im talking about when it comes to the swans, we can make a loan to wrexham and there is nothing that says we cant, in my book we should just like others helped us in our hour of need. we lost poor newport and was sent past the conference because of money i dont want to see that happen to a big and great club like wrexham, christ i remember when wrexham and newport were in the 2nd division that is the championship today and swans and cardiff were in the old 4th division with no more that 2,000 fans. we need these teams back in the fold for the sake of welsh football.......we are in a position to help and we should...
The reason why we didn't get help from other clubs is blatantly obvious, we cannot give money away no matter how much we have, there is accountability and transparency with ltd companies, we cannot loan money to other clubs or anyone as we need a creditors licence for that, tell you what go to www.consumersactiongroup.co.uk and ask there on their forum. Really Dai we all wish Wrexham well and I am sure the club does as well, but there are limits on what they can do, if loan players could I am sure we have a few of our youngsters that could fit the bill, but the reality is there is not a huge amount that can be done from the club itself.
i know you are wrong because liverpool gave us financial help...read my above post i was working for the swans at the time..
And nothing has changed in 30 years ? and I have doubts that liverpool gave us cash , players yes but cash I don't think so
that is exactly what i mean see jager...i know because i was there and you dont and only speculate...thank you for proving my point . ...thread over
You are going on something from 3 decades ago, sorry but the premier league never existed back then, the consumer credit act never existed back then, the FSA never existed back then, the fact is you have no idea what is in place now, it's obvious you have never been in business at all, I can understand your ignorance in these matters, you have just been an employee until sacked.
In the words of a great, late "Dodgeballer"... "This is like watching a bunch of ******s trying to **** a doorknob!"
It makes me feel a little unwell typing this but..Jager, your absolutely right. Dai, although your intentions are good, this is just a ridculous suggestion which would never happen. You talk like the day you got promoted £90m was deposited into Swansea's coffers, it doesnt quite work like that, look at Hull now.
