I would stick with Scholes, he was much better team player. He has the medals to show for it. 11 PL to Lamps 3 But Fat Frank > Slippy, so Lamps gets into my team I would like to point out that I have won as many PL titles as Slippy G
Gerrard was a winner who could drag an average team to some great heights. Lampard was lucky to always have world class players around him, that must have helped. Both decent though.
Lampard was the best for Chelsea, Gerrard was the best for Liverpool and Scholes was the best for United. And the rest of you can all fck off. I wouldn't swap Scholes and the countless league titles, especially in 2007 which he often gets overlooked for. Liverpool fans wouldn't swap Gerrard and the 2005 champion league. And Chelsea fans wouldn't swap Lampard and the goal he scored against them for Man City. Close the thread
Chalk and cheese. Gerrard, in his heyday, all action midfielder. A bordering on great player at his best. Could change a game single handed. Lampard. Probably the most intelligent player I've ever seen, except maybe Maldini. Always seemed to find space, know where the ball was going to be, etc. And scored more goals than a midfielder would be expected to. His brain more than often had him in the right place at the right time.
I didn't get what you said? Did you miss out the word "would" or are you referring to the only time they paired up, which was for England? EDIT: just seen your edit .......Explain yourself!
Thought you'd know what I meant by #childish since you spend most of your life on the Liverpool board
I promised myself I'd only go on there if you lot keep flopping But I still don't know what you mean by it tbh.
Just can't find space for either in any team I'd pick (see separate thread) as there are better players ahead of them such as Vieira, Scholes, Keane, Gaza
Possibly but for me Lampard was the only midfield player to score 177 goals from midfield which drove the Chelsea team to great success. Plus apart from all his goals he made 102 assists which up until today is only 2nd behind Ryan Giggs in premiership history.
