Whilst 99% of the plaudits for the seeming new belief rests with Marco Silva and the playing staff.... huge kudos has to go to Joao Pedro Sousa his assistant, his first team coach Goncalo Pedro and goalkeeping coach (thank you for recognising out Number 1) Hugo Oliviera... you can only see their collective relationship improving over the years... As has been said, the group need retaining the second we know what our destiny is in May.... NO MATTER THE COST.....!!!
You'd think the club have it in his contract that if he keeps us up he gets an instant extension wouldn't you? Surely... Give him whatever the **** he wants.
Unless we get new owners, owners with a vision, then I'm afraid that they'll move on. Any club would take 'em on, because they'll keep us up. But if the Allams are still the owners, there's no way they could strike a deal with the Marco Mob.
Let's face it if he keeps us up he's going to be one of the most wanted managers in the Premier League, and an offer will no doubt come from a Southampton, Everton, West Ham etc in no time at all. Is it bad that I'm already dreading the day Marco and his team leave...
Marco Silva will decide no one else. If he gets offered a good job in Spain or the pl there's no a lot we can do. Everything isn't the Allams fault.
Is it any exaggeration to say that they've made the biggest impact in 1 month of any manager / management team in our history? I think probably not. Ternent did an amazing immediate turnaround but not to this level. And when you consider the concentration of games and the few training sessions they will have had it's even more remarkable. The 2 solid unbroken weeks before Burnley really whet the appetite.
He's said as much BCC.... about not having time properly together and we will get better... I don't know whether his teams are used to playing on paddy fields at home mind you..
It bloody is I think I'm coming down with a bug...that's clearly their fault I was due out on the piss, on a freebie, tonight and I feel like **** so might not go. There's no way that's not their fault How have they done it? **** knows #AskEhab
He's making himself look ****. He did a Match of the Day Q&A on Facebook Live the other day and it was painful to watch.
Phelan doesnt have a career. I got slated for saying he was **** right at the beginning. According to some it was the best weve ever played. All the ingredients were there to do well. The ****test PL i can remember. A load of old heads, some young heads with a lot of experience. Good squad morale. A good GK. Two/three solid CB's. Two solid CM's, 3 with Clucas. A CF full of confidence after scoring a hatful last season. Yet the panty wetters insisted we werent good enough and were a championship level side. That was always bollocks. But all we got on here was you cant blame Phelan!! Like ****. We seriously underperformed. You only have to look where Burnley are and how **** they were when we played them to see where we should be.
He did ok until he actually had to make a decision about who to buy and then who to pick, and then he got it wrong. Badly.
Marco Silva and his team have a massive future ahead of them. Hopefully they think its in everyone's interest to stay with us for at least another year or 2 to gain experience in the PL before moving to a bigger team.
He certainly made some **** decisions, but I'm not sure all the signings were among them (certainly not the big money ones who were Bruce targets).
I'm not saying his actual signings are bad players, more that we clearly - to anyone with half an eye on our squad - needed strengthening in different positions to the ones he did. We did not need a keeper nor did we need an attacking centre midfielder if you're not going to pick a formation to suit him.
