Morning Doc, I agree, if Monk isn't happy about something, he won't keep it in. I remember at the beginning of the season messrs Gray and Kiwin were giving Monk a hard time, and Monk absolutely ripped their heads off.
Much improved thanks. The eye seems to have settled too. Do you want me to get you a ticket for the websites (fat paddy is over). That could be the game that guarantees play off football
pedraza was complicated because it required a buy-out of an existing loan, but there was no 'chain'. If he was first choice it should have been done quicker. Maybe that's what monk was referring to about getting organised, but we hadn't heard him mentioned 'til late on. My guess (and its all supposition) is that canos (experienced in english football) was first choice and pedraza second.
The chain analogy was a general one, relating to when clubs wait to see what replacements they can get in before letting their fringe players go. To be fair i'd rather have Pedraza than Canos, but thats just me. Only time will tell whether we've made a signing that will work.
Canos was never going to happen, he stated very early on that his preferred choice was Brentford over Leeds.
I heard that indirectly but if true was it the lure of London - (if someone is more interested in lifestyle than football it says something). More likely his agent told him it was a better deal financially? Whichever, never going to happen doesn't mean he wasn't first choice. Norwich preferred a sale, we wanted loan, Brentford needed to be sure Horgan was going to finance it... That was the story. If pedraza was first choice, and I don't know any more or less than the next guy, then we sure forked about in taking so long to get it sorted.
