He was far more than just nuisance-value last night, though. I would have made him MOM for his first-half performance alone, scoring a goal and setting up good chances for others. His attacking effectiveness dropped off in the second half, but, as you say, he never stopped unsettling their defenders.
Connor showed both effort and no little skill last night, much as I love Mackie Connor has much more ability for me.

In the past 2 years we would have folded after that first goal and even my son said we may as well turnover when it went in. I didnt feel that last night and i think putting all of our short comings aside, we played with heart and a willingness to to turn it around. Thats a good place to start from when rebuilding a team.
Did you also notice the commentator saying that Man U have a buy back clause on Goss, must rate him highly

Very proud again.......thoroughly deserved point and if we can take our chances (or at least get a shot in!! we could have won it by half time.

The usual plusses lately plus I will add Bidwell who had a great game.

Slight concerns. the new boys looked slow and ring rusty. I suppose they will need a few weeks to get up to speed but surely Lua Lua has been bought for pace and not slowing down the game all the time as the reason we do well away from home is we attack with pace. Freeman looked slow and weak, hopefully just not enough game time?.....

So you don't see an improvement?
Some improvements, some deteriation.
We have been pretty variable under Holloway. Until last night our passing play seemed to have got worse and worse to the extent that we were basically humping balls out of defence usually with no adresse, unless Hall had the ball, and only a lot of hard work further forward enabled us to get hold of the ball in attacking positions. Furlong a big culprit in this. This tactic worked at Reading but doesnt so well at home, which is reflected in our results. But our defensive organisation seems to have improved since the new coach with no hair ( forget his name now) arrived, and last night I thought our passing was better, there were even periods last part of the 2nd half where we managed to play keep ball a bit. We were a lot better going forward last night as well ( especially 1st half) and with continued good defensive organisation and hopefully with a proper striker Smith or Sylla, and with Ravel, Washington or Mackie supporting, plus Pawel in better form than he was last night, we will play better at home as well. My biggest worry now is that we seem short of CB's - another injury there or suspensions will leave us very open unless there is someone or two decent out of contract we can bring in.

Yes, the CB situation worries me as well. I think the difference between that Burton performance sandwiched between the three other much improved performances is baffling. We do need to find a way to be more assertive at home and win or at least draw games. However, I feel we are on an improvng trend no question.

Don't want to be 'picky' Oslo as I agree with your post but are you contradict yourself?

then
and last night I thought our passing was better,

As I said not be picky. Are you saying the passing was worse or better last night?

A great game to watch, especially the first half. Really chuffed that Connor is proving my previous slating of him wrong and thereby reflecting my ignorance as to his abilities and no doubt football in general. Long may these steps to improvement continue.

There's one or two more who may have to own up to being wrong about Washington.

I think Washington has to score a bit more consistently to be considered a player of note at QPR. I'm not necessarily criticising him but I'm just saying he hasn't done a lot before this mini bit of form. Let's see where it goes.
