As for the fee, you dont get much for players in the last year of their deals. 10 million would have been extremely good business given the circumstances, even though he is actually worth upwards of 15 million.

 

Inevitable but i can't say i'm not disappointed.
Also, why, 2 days before the first game do we sell him without cover already in? It's an absolute shambles.

 

I thought Pieters had a min release clause in his contract? So if that is true and he wants to come to us which he appears like he does then the PSV manager can do **** all.

It's better we sell him now and get 5 to 6 million with plenty of time to go before the end of the window to get a replacement rather than Liverpool waiting until the final few hours and lowballing us with a cheeky 3 million bid knowing we either sell him at a cut price or lose him in January on a free when he can talk to other clubs.

Just wonder where it leaves us for the Arsenal game and whether Pardew had factored this in...

Yeah exactly, now we're in the situation where, even if he does come in before Saturday, he'll barely have had anytime with new team mates and won't know anything about how they play. If we're going to sell him for such a low fee, why not atleast wait until after the game? I know alot of people will say there's no point playing Jose if his heart's not in it, but i'd much rather have an annoyed Enrique than another player out of position.

Dissapointed that he said he wanted CL football and then has gone and done this. However, I can slightly understand it as Liverpool's chances are better than ours (as much as it pains me to admit it)
