Nice meeting at Newmarket tomorrow, along with a very good Group 3 race at Salisbury, with a fair few runners in it.

Salisbury 4.15 Beacon Lodge 9/1 (Nap)- Best off a strong pace and that should be ensured here, particularly with The Rectifier in the field who tends to go from the front. Nothing wrong with a running on display behind Strong Suit at Goodwood, and if in the same sort of mood and a bit of luck in running, can take a Group 3 win that he deserves.

Newmarket 2.20 Appointee 9/4- Ran a nice debut for John Gosden when 3rd behind the excellent Godolphin pair Gamilati and Discourse, and normal improvement should make this one very hard to beat.

Newmarket 3.25 Interaction 3/1- Another John Gosden horse in a maiden. Was sent off relatively unfancied at Ascot but travelled pretty well under Seb Sanders and showed a fair bit of ability I thought. I have been looking forward to its next run and whilst I by no means think it is a banker bet, I am very hopeful it can reverse the form with Regal Heiress, whose lack of progress in maidens suggests handicaps will be the time to see that one improve.

Newmarket 4.35 Forjatt 9/2- No excuses for this one tomorrow. The smaller field should mean no trouble in running and Antonio Murgia's claim makes this an attractive bet to take a chance on at the prices. Varians yard regaining their form and this should go close.

I do agree that 9-1 Beacon Lodge is a good price on his last run Topclass but i just wonder if he will find one too good again. I feel as near as certain he will make the first three though so is a bet to nothing each way. The other race you commented on that i will probably have a bet in is the Newmarket 4.35 but i will be going for Sea Soldier who i think was very impressive last time beating a well regarded horse and is on a reasonable mark with Franny Norton doing 8-2. I think that is a lot of weight to be getting off of Forjatt, so for me at the moment.

Salisbury 4.15 Beacon Lodge 9-1 E-W

Newmarket 4.35 Sea Soldier 4-1 WIN

Both best odds

Good luck with your selections Topclass

TopClass, good evening.
Best of luck with your brave Nap, Beacon Lodge.
I see this as hard a race to work out as you could wish. However, here goes..
Dance and Dance and Julienas both step up to Group Class and deserve their try at Group 3. Dance and Dance may have the edge on Hunt Cup weights, but both may be a few pounds light in ability.
Side Glance, Emerald Commander , and Fanunalter have all beaten St Moritz. Side Glance looked unlucky in running against Dick Turpin, but he wasn't closing close home on Fanunalter who ran a great race, but is 3lb worse off here. Emerald Commander galloped on strongly to beat St Moritz, and was eased close home. Any rain would assist this son of Pivotal, and could be a big danger to them all.
Beacon Lodge and Premier Loco are well up to this grade , but both are exposed and need things to go right for them.
Bin Suroor's other runner, Secrecy, has a good shout on his running behind Cityscape last back end, and he likes Salisbury. He's a bit inconsistent, though.
Personally, I feel Side Glance is too short at 5/2, and that Fanunalter can beat him again at the revised weights- on offer at 6/1 Boylesports. Good Each way bet recommended.

Toppy, just in case you didn't know Latansaa is out tomorrow in the 3.05 Salisbury. I'd say you probably do and are ignoring it as its probably going to be too short

3 I like the look of tomorrow

3.05 Salisbury Latansaa FC odds 5/1 (will not back if too short)
3.40 Salisbury Istishaara 12/1 NAP
4.15 Salisbury Beacon Lodge 10/1

Will get write ups done for tomorrow, and if Latansaa is shorter than 4s I won't touch it as there are a few doubts I have and will not risk a bet if that is the case.

Got to go for Fruehling in the 6.00 Goodwood to follow up his gentle introduction at Newmarket. Won't be much of a price though.

Some superb shouts on here yesterday <cheers>

Any news on Beverley? They called an inspection at about 5 last night and if they've had the same amount of rain as we have had at Catterick it will be abandoned!!

Tomorrow evenings card at North Yorkshires greatest track will without doubt be soft and possibly heavy with a slight chance of abandonment!

ROTO, I hadnt looked at that race so thanka for reminding me.

Opened at 4/1 with Bet365 and to me thats an excellent price now its back in maiden company. Tregoning back in better form, stripped fitter for a run and dropped into a maiden. He's going there to win this and having shaped well last time, can improve stepped back in trip now stripping fitter for its reappearance after a year off the track.

3.05 Salisbury, Lataansa 4/1 (Nb)

ROTO will explain the strength of its earlier maiden form, I would write it myself but must dash!

Morning, troops. Hope everyone good. Today I will recommend:

Bathwick Man (5.20 Salisbury) - this one was an effortless winner at God's own racecourse, Newton Abbot, 10 days ago, and I take the Pipe's runner to double up in the south of the county this afternoon. The more astute of you will have observed that effort earlier in the month was over hurdles and today is on the level but I see that as being no barrier to Bathwick Man as he gets in here off a ridiculously low mark of 49 (although has to race off 52), has run with credit on the flat in the past and is undoubtedly in the very best of heart at the moment.

At Stratford-On-Avon I had been hoping that the Vaughan juvenile Investment World would have made his debut over timber but this has not been the case (the trainer opting for another from his yard instead in the heat). Look out for this one when he does have his first hurdling run though. I rated him a potentially decent horse when he won on the all-weather for Mark Johnston over the winter but in his 4 most recent runs seemed to lose the plot completely. If a change of scenery has resulted in a renewed enthusiasm for the game Investment World would be very, and I do mean very, interesting over the sticks. Possibly at a nice price as well.

Finally, I see that there has been more loot for Firdaws for next terms 1,000 Guineas. The latest supposed ‘reincarnation of Pegasus’ makes her debut across the county line at Newbury tomorrow.

With the ground going to be extremely heavy at Beverley i shall steer clear but have a few i like the look of at Salisbury:

200: Andrew Balding has an amazing record and figures of X111 in this race from the last 4 years so Beau Duke could go well. Missed the kick and did not get into the race on debut but will have learnt a lot from that.

230: Zamarelle went down early on debut, played up, missed the kick and dwelt but ran on nicely. Roger Charlton is not one for many FTO winners so this one can without doubt show improvement today.

340: One i like here was FC at 12s overnight but arrives at around the 6/1 mark! So a nice EW wager has turned into a not so promising win one! Amistress ran a very good race off this mark at Goodwood LTO in what was a far better race, confident of a place at least.

415: Finally i cannot leave Premio Loco out of the equation today. LTO on Derby Day he did not get the fast pace that he loves to quicken off and was consequently left behind! George Baker was very easy on him and guaranteed the fast pace today hopefully we will see the class horse that finished just 4l behind Canford Cliffs 2 runs back. Odds of 6s are very kind indeed IMO.

Be Lucky all <cheers>

Seems that the race is falling away Gaz. Is it possible that So You Think is beginning to scare them off. I see Twice Over and and Midday will probably start, but I can't see either of them being up to the job.

Cyc, I personally felt a small tipple on Argocat might be interesting, looks to be one that needs a trip and I don't think the soft ground will inconvenience him, he doesn't seem to be a horse with much speed so I fancy this one to battle in the mud today upped to 2m. Thought your horse might be a wee bit short?

No worries TC

3.05 Salisbury

Latansaa 4/1

This looks a very good bet in my eyes – even more so after he has had a run back after a 13 month absence. This Marcus Tregonning trained gelding, has had 4 starts to date and is very unexposed. On his 4 starts to date, he has finished 3rd twice and 4th once and after the absence a distant 9th. However, once you delve deeper into those races, it is easy to see that this form is much better than it appears on paper. On debut, Latansaa finished 2.25L behind TOTAL COMMAND – a subsequent winner and now an operator in group company. Behind him on this debut run was GREEN MOON, who has subsequently won of 82 and 96, and who is now rated 106 and also SEA OF HEARTBREAK (who finished 18L behind Latansaa that day) has won 4 times since including off 92. Furthermore, and came 0.5L second behind Timepiece off a rating of 103 LTO. The 11th that day MOUNT ATHOS, who finished 27.5L behind todays selection has won 4 times including of 94 and posted an excellent 4th behind Overturn in the Chester Cup

On his next start, Latansaa finished 0.78L behind Colonel Carter, who won his only subsequent start off 83 and a nose behind SIGNIFICANT MOVE who won off 79. He finished 0.5L ahead of CHRISTMAS CARNIVAL who won off 76 and 80 and is now rated 84. He finished 7L in front of ADVERTISEMENT who has won 3 times since including off 80 and finished 0.25L 2nd LTO off 88. RITUAL, who finished 12.25L behind Latansaa, has won all his 3 subsequent starts including off 78 and is now rated 83.

Both his first 2 starts were on turf. His 3rd and final start was on the AW, which was the surface he made his reappearance run on and indeed handicap debut off 81. He finished 4.56L behind ETON FOREVER who has won off 92 and is now rated 103 and performed well at Royal Ascot. He also finished 3L behind AFSARE who has won 3 times since , including off 110. He finished 8L ahead of GREEN DESTINY who has won 3 times since, including off 82 and 87 and is now rated 99. This to me is ridiculous form. Its very, very strong over the 3 races and he has finished ahead of some very, very good horses.

On his final start, it was quite clear to me that Latansaa needed his reappearance run and will definitely strip fitter as a result. When called upon for an effort LTO he had a bit of an awkward head carriage which was a small concern but hopefully that will not be an issue today. Latansaa makes his reappearance back on the turf today, a surface which I think he is much better on. Further to this, he has been dropped back to maiden company and with his previous form and a drop back to a mark of 80 surely if 100% Latansaa should be blowing this opposition away unless one of the debutants is very good. Tadhg O’Shea takes the ride which is means no Richard Hills (thank god) and if fully wound up I think after his reappearance run and return to his soundest surface Latansaa can win like an odds on shot today at nice odds.
