We all have our problems Charlie :) Sorry no - unfair - when did Livesey play for Watford - assume the 60's - Bill McGarry era?

Not one to gloat  - just bask in the knowledge that the scoreline last night was an improvement on England's the last time they played Oz!

Like that one <laugh> It reminds me of the old Aussie expression - 'I could eat the arse out of a dead horse'.

My father-in-law served some time in Changi during WWII - he reckons that saying was adapted to 'eat the arse out of a dead Jap'

I thought more crosses to bare (God knows what I did in a previous life)

Charlie played in the early 60's about 1962 -65, but he was magic and a prolific goal scorer. Unfortunatly he was only with Watford for a few of years, He was replaced by Cliff Holton when he came back to Vicarage Road for a second time. We had Pat Jennings (later replaced by Bert Slater) in goal along with Ron Saunders and Jimmy McAnearney. Bill McGarry was Manager and we had just got promoted to the 3rd Division. I used to stand on the corner where they have the hospitality boxes now. This was a Mound/hill made up of soil & Clinkers (old Coke waste) no barriers - very Health & Safety. Great days

Before I joined up the RAF and when I was living in the NE of Scotland supporting my local team in the Highland League (Buckie Thistle FC, current HL Champions:) ) We used to move around at halftime to be behind the oppositions keeper to hopefully watch the goals go in, that didn't happen that often back then:)
