I was suggesting that Evandro and Grosicky will be more motivated as they are here permanently and their fortunes - at least for now - ride with us. Loanees are not as tied to the club's fortunes.

We obviously do. As has been pointed out, which you have ignored, there is plenty of evidence of selfish, lazy footballers everywhere, and in particular at our club (Ben Arfa ring any bells??)

You're also misinterpreting my entire point, which was to colour the optimism of these PERFECT loanees we've brought in.

If we do get relegated having 6 loan players Leave the club will mean between 12 to 15 million saving on the wage bill if you add in the relegation clauses of the other players it should make the wage bill manageable in the championship with the parachute payments.. we will need to get in new players but these will be on championship wages ...I'm glad we haven't gone crazy and spent millions on making these players permanent as 1, more debt puts the club in financial peril especially with the Allams trying to get loans on the club to pay back there debt. 2, less likely to find a. Buyer if the debt meaning the price is higher. If we do stay up then I'm guessing Marco would stay and have a couple of months to build a proper team of permanent signings.

The three players signed yesterday are top quality players so I think we have the makings of a very good match day squad the question is can Marco inspire them to perform together

Let's give them a chance as the only way I can see these idiots selling the club is if we do stay up

6 months paying Ranocchia's 70k wages, as well as Niasse's 60k or whatever he's on is still, in my mind, quite crazy.

Some of these players are loans with an option for us to buy if they don't perform or we don't stay up we won't be buying so the incentive is for those guys to play well

Still better then paying 10million transfer for them and paying 60k on a 3 year deal

Only Niasse I believe. Funnily enough he's the loanee who seems to have shown the most so far.

Not necessarily since buying a 10m player we'd be able to recoup a chunk of that selling him. E.g. N'Doye we bought and we recouped the fee.

I'd be very surprised if we're paying Andrea's full salary, unless we've announced otherwise?

Ok, so two of our targets went to Palace and Boro respectively and we missed out on at least another two that turned us down.
What we don't know of course is which were the first choice, and which were backups.

A bit disappointing but It's all about whether Marco is the real deal and can get his players to perform for him.

Last time my socks were blown off it ended in tears so I'm quite happy with our business this time.

Sensible approach to signings, more options and more for Silva to work with.

Looking forward to the rest of the season now. We might still be relegated but we'll go down fighting.

I know eff all about any of em other than Andy. If you throw in Niasse and Evandro it's bit weird knowing nothing about half of the team.

Somehow I thought Craigo suggested loans were a perfect strategy, at this time, not perfect loanees. (post #8105 ).
You miss my point...the vast majority of loanees have a point to prove and most will bust their arses. We may have been unlucky with the misfit egocentric Ben Arfa, the last second desperation signing.
Evandro and Grosicky will have the same level of motivation & commitment as any loanee. They should have the same degree of self respect, ambition and professionalism.
    It's their families financial future.
No footballer is tied to any club's fortunes.
