I don't think anyone can blame Cesc going on Wenger and the story goes that all the money will go on new players. As long as it's not two more 15m Oxocubes then we may be alright.

....I am clutching at straws though.

the money will be reinvested. this is one thing that the fans WON'T stand for this year - knowing that the club have just raked in 35m from Fab & 25m from Nasri & then seeing no investment!!

If they were both sold & Mata & a decent CB were picked up, I'd be all for it. Gervinho will replace Nasri, Mata or Ramsey or someone else can play the Fab role, and the team looks pretty solid!

Even as an outsider I'd agree that Barcelona and their players were highly disrespectful to Arsenal throughout.

The money from selling Fabs and Nasri SHOULD go straight into strengthening the squad. If this does not happen then this would be totally unexceptable!!!!!

I don't want to hear any of Wenger's crappy exuses of not having replacements linked up. Everyone including their dog knew that Fabs and Nasri wanted out so there should be suitable replacements!!!

'1004: FOOTBALL - BBC Sport's Dan Roan reports Samir Nasri is close to leaving Arsenal - for Manchester City. The 2 clubs are close to agreeing a fee between 22m and 24m.' - BBC

    Thoughts?

Wenger and Gazidis have allowed this to descend into the shambles it has become.

We all know Wenger will not spend big if at all. We have a game on saturday and no one has a clue who will be playing for us.

Such incompetence will be punished, i forecast 2 points from the first 3 games and the fans baying for Wengers head if he does not sort it.

I totally agree with you. We all knew Fabs was on the cards, it was just a matter of when. Nasri was more of a shock. To drag the Fab thing on for so long and not tying Nasri to a new contract last year is frankly poor management.

Aaaah "get beats". That's a phrase I've not used in a while but it's going straight back in my regular rotation!

It is fine let him go think him and Bale are the most overrated players in the prem he had 6 good months. Not saying he is not good or that we wont miss him, we will but not as big a deal as loosing Fab.

Leaves Wenger with a few options .

    1) Take 50mn plus maybe 20mn we have and go hell for leather - Baines - 15mn, Jag or Cahill - 15-20 mn, Parker - 5-10mn and Mata - 25mn means

    Wos

    Sagna Cahill/Jag TV Baines

    Song Parker

    Wilshere/Ramsey

    Walcott/Arsh RVP Mata.

    2) What i think Wenger will actually do - Buy a CB Dann seems the new fav and maybe Mata

    Wos

    Sagna Dann TV Gibbs

    Song Wilshere

    Ramsey/Mata/Arsh

    Walcott/Arsh RVP Mata/Arsh

    3) Just a CB and get on with it.

Could be more options feel free to add but I really wish he had resigned himself to this fate and sold them a month ago so we could have the squad in place buy start of August especially as we have Champions league Man utd and Liverpool coming up very quickly.

24m and I'll snap your arm off. A very talented player but not the finished article yet and let's face it, he's only really produced the good stuff for us for 4 months out of 2 1/2 years. The only issue for me here is the timing with Cesc going. I'm also slightly p*ssed off by his loyalty here as with Marsaille he purposefully signed a new contract before leaving so his club would recieve a good fee for him. No such consideration for us which would suggest a reason for him going was more than just money.

... though I do think money is the driving factor here the little K.D Lang lookalike tart.

I can't help but read this thread title in the voice of Dr. Zoidberg.

Anyway, as long as the money for these two guys (if it indeed is the case that they're leaving) is almost wholly reinvested in players we should be fine. I trust that Wenger'll spend wisely.

great player but not a great captain, sorry to see him go but was not at his best last year, reinvest the money and move on. ditto Nasri.

  19. It's time to thank Cesc and move on. There's a lot to do out there and £35m plus the expected 23m from the sale of the ' good for 5 months a year ' wonder can buy us a lot of talent which will help us put together a pretty potent team.

To Cesc: thanks for the memories, i hope you enjoy the Barca bench. To Samir: to me, you're in the same league as Adebayor right now.
