We should have used the Ulloa money and got someone decent in, it was a priority position and a complete failure on the day.

Having said that we've got one of the best strikers in the league let alone the bottom half and we are far from ****ed. Hopefully the lack of buzz about selling Khazri means that we're finally going to give the poor bastard a game, the Moyes/Januzaj love in might have come to an end.

I wonder why we didn't contact Leicester before today to find out about Ulloa's availability. I doubt that their decision to not sell to a rival was implemented today, we've wasted all day chasing after a player we were never going to get.

It shouldn't get down to the last day anyway, what kind of a business are some of these clubs running?

To be fair it sounds like you were in for other strikers too (Rodriguez from Southampton would have been a blinder) but it just didn't pan out. Moyes is working under severe constraints and in Oviedo I suspect he's found someone who will cover the loss of PVA, not convinced by Gibson though and felt you could have done with Kone (the striker) if no-one else was forthcoming.

To some extent yeah, but the point was why were we wasting our time chasing a player we weren't going to get when there are hundreds of other players we could have been going after.

Leicester could have played the game as well though since they're also in the ****.

    They played it well, tbf.

Clearly we got knocked back on players worth pursuing in our price range. Should have been more money made available. No point chucking 7.5m at somebody who's not worth it. Maybe there's better for free.

Maybe they did but all I was aware that they said was that he was categorically not for sale to a prem side, at which point (after repeatedly trying to sign him anyway) we seemed to give up on signing anyone. Ulloa or nothing apparently.

But we might of, and nowt was stopping us going for other targets at the same time. Moyes did say we were working on other targets don't see any reason to call him a liar. Not sure why you think clubs approach transfers individually one at a time. We'll have been trying to work on all our targets at once as there's many steps to a transfer both before and after bids. If we were approaching one target at a time which I doubt we were than Bain applies some strange old logic in his approach for players.

We also bid for Rodriguez for £12m but got knocked back.

If we bid that much for him, we could have got someone in for anything up to £12m who would have been good value for it.

I'm not calling Moyes a liar but it does sound like we put 90% of our eggs in an Ulloa shaped basket. We should have been hammering a list of about a dozen players not two or three. Most people on here, given a few days, could draw up a shortlist of twenty players that would have improved us and would have been realistically available.

Maybe you think we were after that many. I don't.

All we know is what the media pipe us and the words of those at the club who represent us. I'm not naive enough to think the press get hold of everything. They play catch up in the days after to report loads of the approaches they missed before the deadline and info continues the leak on all sorts of approaches months later. Stands to reason there will be many many inquiries which never make it to the press. Our manager said we had targets, no reason what so ever to not believe him. Just using unknown guesses to use against us is plain radged imo. Can't work you out fella, so sucked in by your own fabricated speculation.

Maybe nobody who fit the bill wanted to join us, maybe it was wages, maybe we couldn't get a bid accepted, so many factors. One thing is for certain, if the right player at the right price with the right wage demands was made available we'd be talking about our new signing.

Some people appear to be making out like Moyes was able sign the right player but was unwilling. Or that he just couldn't be arsed. Why would Moyes sabotage us? Demented.

Yeah and you've got a habit of assuming that you know exactly what's going on and everybody else is naive which doesn't show you in the best light either. Seem to remember you being adamant that we wouldn't have any money to spend today but we clearly did.

At the end of the day we desperately needed a forward and we didn't get one. You might be happy to assume that the club did their best and that's fine, my opinion is that we could and should have signed someone even if it was just Kone.

No I don't. I'm sat here bring up one of the many factors which could have prevented a signing. Not claiming on any of them. I making the point that we don't know ffs<doh> You seem to think you know how long the ****ing list of targets were! <laugh>

I'm balanced and realistic I throw up options, but rarely comit on something I'm not sure of. You on the other hand apear to be on another ****ing planet of self invented nonsense. <laugh>

I said I didn't think we have money to spend. It's an opinion. There's a huge difference between an opinion on what the future may hold and invented speculation on the past, your forte.

Yeah, Nacos right, we had the perfect player braying the door down but Moyes and Bain couldn't be arsed. They chose to instead sabotage our chances instead.

    ****ing backwards<laugh> <doh>

    Guys chill.

You can always try to get Shefki Kuqi on a free if Defoe gets injured.

I know how long the list of targets should have been and apparently it wasn't long enough because we didn't get anyone. You can paint me as a fantasist if you like, doesn't make it any more true than anything else you come up with.
