If we win tomorrow we're 3 points off 2nd place... If that happens, that worst case scenario is you fighting for 4th regardless. I don't think you can choose who with anymore, it's too close. Both Manchester clubs could just as easily displace Spurs or Arsenal.

Having said that, I have a horrible feeling both could drop points tomorrow.

So if you assume you keep winning then you get to fight for 4th. Well done. So [HASHTAG]#brave[/HASHTAG]

Can't wait to see how Firmino is after his court case. He hasn't looked right in a while - not sure if it's tiredness, off field issues or just poor form.
I wondered if the court case was affecting him, but he wasn't involved in anything so there should no more than a fine and maybe a ban.
Neither of which should affect him unduly.
The guy works really hard, but his end product has always been patchy - maybe he's just having a bad spell.

The court case probably doesn't help (shouldn't have done it though should he) but...

- his forms suffered due to being pushed out wide. Sure, he was central today but he's not a player that just switches it on
- he's missed Couthino who is still returning from injury
- Mane missing means teams have defended higher up the pitch. This gives Firmino less space to work with or spaces to exploit when Mane stretches them.

You need to re-read my post mate. We're in a battle for 4th... we just need to make sure we keep Spurs & Arsenal in touching distance so they don't build a gap ahead of us and you / City.

No we're still in 3 cup competitions. How about you? [HASHTAG]#notsobrave[/HASHTAG] [HASHTAG]#ouch[/HASHTAG] ;)

Read your post just fine. Your worst case scenario is not a pick and choose who you keep up with. United and City are looking at Spurs and Arsenal as much as you.

You guys have a testing time coming. You're about to return to EL football, you've also FA and League Cup games to consider too. Great position for you guys to be in but your league form may suffer like it did earlier in the season.

Yeh I that's a fair comment. Hard to tell at the moment, but I don't think anyone is playing particularly well.

Spurs and Arsenal are ahead of us. If we can keep them included in the chase for 4th then it's better. Better to have 5 teams chasing 3 positions, than 3 teams chasing 1.

I think he probably means they have to stay in touch with Arsenal and Spurs to be in with a chance of 4th, United and City will get 2nd and 3rd <ok>

I hear you Bis, maybe I'm not saying what I mean properly, but why assume that 4th could be a fight between Liverpool, City and United? My point was worst case scenario (e.g. for Liverpool) could just as well be between Liverpool, Spuds, Arsenal because the 3 could drop points and the Manchester clubs overtake. With just 3 points in it, that's also likely.

Possible mate. Not "likely", possible.

At the moment, unless we Collapse and deltmown entirely, its 5 teams chasing 3 spots.
Its so close between 6th and 2nd.

Our league form didn't suffer because of cup games earlier in the season, we were just **** because of all the changes made every game to give everyone a chance to prove themselves.

If someone had offered us this position before the season started I'd have taken it.

We've 15 league games with no distractions and are well and truly in the mix for top four.

Hmmmm.... I can see any team above us dropping 3-4 points. Spurs I'm confident will with their lack of squad depth. Arsenal play Chelsea next, could easily drop 3 points just there. Only need Liverpool to keep up with them.... and we could overtake in a couple of weeks <whistle>
