    Reports in 'The Sun' suggest a 30m offer will be made for wor andy once the Torres deal has been finalised.

    Any substance or more tabloid BS...

    I'm sure mike can think of 30 million reasons!

    Personally i'm torn on the whole situation. 30 million - if it goes on the team only then might be a good call, if it goes back into fat mike's handbag then absolutely not!

    we have turned down big bids for people in past with potential and then they haven't come good - dyer, jenas, n'zogbia (allegedly).

    really am quite torn.

    I cannot see it happening as we don't have the time to replace him if he is sold today, where would that leave us? it is more likely a summer bid would be likely to be accepted when the club has time to spend the money. Having said that if it goes into mikes back pocket then it could be today :(

    Hope he doesnt go... but if MA does recieve that offer doubt he would think twice about accepting it... but if he does, just hope AC will decline Pool's contract..

    Apparently Levy spoke to Fat Mike about buying Carroll and Fat Mike knocked the bid back saying it was an insult (just what I've read, so probably no truth in it).

    I'd hope that at Mike can see the need to keep hold of him, cause in the long run he will be worth more than £30 Mill to us.

    why is he bidding for Carroll anyway? he's seen the prowess of Leon Best in recent weeks surely his £30m would be better spent on the indomitable hat trick hero?

    Apparently just in : Sky Sports News' David Craig now reporting Newcastle have received a £30million bid for Andy Carroll believed to be from Liverpool. The Magpies have rejected the bid

    Must be incredibly counter-intuitive for Ashley to turn down £30m. It's the right thing to do, but fair play to him all the same.
