Well put. It's happened too often this season though, the sloppy result and only playing for 20 minutes.
He's dangerous, but I'm still waiting for some end product. Goals, assists, you know...(don't mention that goal )
Cup final or no cup final - he has got to go at the end of the season. How many 'good' performances have we seen this season? I can think of both semi final legs, vs. Arsenal (reserves) in the cup, West Ham (who were in dire straits at the time), Leicester (see previous). Even when we win we are bang average and bloody tedious to watch and I just simply cannot see how that is going to change. Yes if we had three 10+ goalscorers like we had last season then things may be different and that isn't his fault. However the system Puel employs limits our players so so much, Redmond aside (how Sims isn't starting over him yet I'll never know) and means they seem as though they are devoid of any quality (bar the obvious exceptions). Last Weds made me rethink my stance on Puel and I have given him a chance all season, especially in the first 10/15 games when I could see we were creating chances just lacking a finisher - but we are not even doing that anymore. With him at the helm I can't see us getting relegated, but I certainly can't see a top 8 finish any time soon.
It's a valid point. By making all those changes we've killed all the momentum gained from Leicester and Liverpool. Forster did not need to be rested. Nor did Maya. Tadic could have played one half on Saturday, Redmond the other instead of playing Isgrove who has no future at the club. Puel would have known there were signings imminent. He could and should have played a stronger team on Saturday.
No but were not a million miles away. I'm almost 100% sure we wont be in serious danger this year (there are some really poor teams in the league). But we must be in the worst form in the division or there abouts.
Just frustrating that we try being too nice and too clever for the first part of games, if we started the games like we ended them, we'd be tormenting and pounding on teams like Swansea that we should be beating. That said, clement has got Swansea lined up well and is clearly working on organisation and fitness. Don't expect them to stay where they are in the league.
Calling a ref biased is slander and complete bollocks. If a player calls a referee biased he gets sent off. It's not acceptable to call a referee biased based on nothing.
How do you know? Do you know Maya wasn't knackered. Tadic? Redmond? C'mon. You're saying that in hindsight. Loads of clubs did the same, and loads of clubs that you'd pick to win today didn't. I wouldn't even necessarily have picked us to win today by any stretch, and with the injury list we have, it just wasn't worth risking things in that game, particularly with the LC final this month. Imagine if he'd played Maya and he'd buggered his ankle against Arsenal, and we'd lost 1-0 instead of 5. You'd have been going crazy that he was risked.
Another frustrating evening because apart from a spell in the first half we dominated. We just seem to lose concentration once or twice and bang bang - punished. 2nd half we came out and ran the game. Boufal, who I have thought is total class from day one, destroyed them. Sims looked good again and Long looking sharper but apparently has to get assaulted before any man in black feels like giving him a free kick. Get the signings in to give us a boost and off we go again.
To be in denial of reality means you never look for a solution to the problem. We cannot afford to keep losing to teams that are slowly creeping up on us.
It's more that away defeats to the supposed **** teams is a regular occurrence. And each game is the same. A one goal defeat where taking our chances will have changed the result.
