This has been a really good thread. What the mancs( most- but not all of them) don't realise is that if they show some respect then they will get the same in return. Too many of them come on our board looking to have a go and seem surprised when they get the same back.

The Liverpool manager, Kenny Dalglish, insists Sunderland fans should not give Jordan Henderson a rough ride in Liverpool's opening Premier League fixture this weekend. The midfielder left the Black Cats for Liverpool this summer and Dalglish says his former club have to be "philosophical" about the move.

"Jordan is one they've lost," Dalglish told the Liverpool Echo. "He's a good player who they would have been understandably reluctant to let go. But sometimes as a manager you've got to be philosophical and say if a player wants to go we should let him leave. I don't think [Sunderland fans] will have any animosity towards Jordan. Sunderland will be a difficult fixture. There's been a major turnaround of players there over the summer.

"We'll need to do a bit of revision and see which players Steve has brought in and let go. Their team will be very different to the one we faced back in March."

Luis Suárez has returned to training after being given an extended break following Uruguay's involvement in the Copa América and is in contention for the starting line-up on Saturday.Suárez could partner Andy Carroll, who Dalglish says has recovered from the injury that affected him last season. "Andy's injury meant he was only able to train at 100% on rare occasions last season. He even played in some games when we knew he wasn't going to be at his best. Now he is fully over that knock and has been able to do a lot more on the training field in pre-season. That's showed in the games he has played over the last few weeks. He's fitter and scoring some goals."

Never been stated that he wanted to leave, but it's still a good move for him,

Suarez........No, was hoping he wouldn't play.

The question is, do we leave this going or tart a new joint thread to take us from build up to match day?

We will still have the option for single board threads for those who want one but is there a call for a joint thread?

When it comes to being friendly it amazes me why anyone would want to be hostile, I know they are but why.

Its simple, we want to beat you and you want to beat us, thats football. We know that Suarez is a fantastic player, why pretend otherwise. You can show desire and passion without abusing or insulting and in the scheme of things, win, lose or draw we will all move on to our next game.

I think a separate joint board Match thread would be nice.

Syd, if we did not want to beat you and you did not want to beat us then there would be no point in the match! Like my dad told me back in the early Shankly days "You can't enjoy the wins unless you are prepared to accept the losses".

The thread has been so mutually respectful, in the main, because their is a gap between the 2 teams.

We know Liverpool are favourites, rightly so, Liverpool lads (and lasses) know they should expect to win it, but on the other side, we know we are capable of getting something, and the Liverpool lot know that they have to perform to get it.

Add that to the fact we always get a great welcome on Merseyside, and we have a great thread, with some good craic and a lot of honesty etc.

Be a different story with the teams around us, when we are confident of a win, and they are, exclude the Mags, because we wouldn't want it any other way than a verbal punch up, it's what we're about and we all love it, but the likes of Stoke, Villa, Everton etc, we won't hit 17 pages, and there'll be plenty of bite!

I'll add that it's wonderful to see fans of a club of the stature of Liverpool even considering us a threat, few years back they'd have been expecting a big win.

    <ok>

There is a massive respect for your team mainly cause of your supporters on here.

On the Liverpool board we will always react to other teams' supporters with respect if they treat us with the same, and I have to say the Sunderland fans on here are perhaps the most respectful of the lot. There's also a bit more of a friendly connection between the teams due to the Northern aspect, I'm not sure this kind of banter would be the same with a club like QPR or Chelsea...

I felt a bit sorry for you last season towards the end, didn't seem fair that you had so many injuries in a short space of time. I know we had plenty of injuries too, but we were lucky enough to have backups. You were unlucky enough to have your backups injured as well.

And the back ups back up, and the back ups back ups back up.

Was insane, we were having to bring 17 year olds into match day squads, some of the lads looked like they'd borrowed their dads shirts! Hopefully, down the line, this will actually benefit the lads though, having had that matchday experience!

    I'll book a flight!!

Hopefully not the ones from the infamous "Pig & Whistle" Powerpoint presentation that was doing the rounds a couple of years ago.

    Ha ha.

No mate, they always do a fine job of finding the ones with more fingers than teeth, but there's a great stock of great looking girls in the North East, similar to your side, spend time on their appearance, get boys into trouble....

Got some breaking news, i've heard from my mate who works at Sunderland AFC that Enrique is on his way to Melwood as we speak for a medical, keep an eye on SSN!

    He's no gobshite.

Yep - it's all over the news now mate.

Don't think it's on the OS yet, well it won't be until he's had his medical, but sorts out one of our enduring problems if the deal goes through. <ok>

    Happy days.

Great signing mate, a cracking player.

I knew it'd break, the lad concerned is always spot on, he was about an hour ahead of the news there, give or take.

If he signs, i imagine he's straight in the side for Sat, no doubt he'll settle ok with Reina & Pacheco already there.
