For men, can those 2 words appear in the same sentence. TBH, I thought some would say that....but most young people are not beer aficionados...a knees up with beer and food can never be bad.
Sure can. There is plenty of soapy, foamy or fizzy pop that masquerades as beer. Much/most of that is big company lager, and they spend fortunes convincing the innocent that the foul stuff they are drinking is kewl. When it comes to beer, small tends to be beautiful.
I am. I worked in Germany for a while and realised that they brew some of the best beer in the world. I may well pop down. Vin
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-38814338 Difficult because to pardon I think means an offence was committed.
You'd think there could be some mechanism to automatically pardon people convicted of an offence when and if whatever they did stops being an offence.
Hey Vin, it's your favourite time of the year. I can barely have a conversation at work now which doesn't include the phrase "end of the financial year". No random underspends this time round that we have to burn, just money that has to be spent before April or it will turn into a pumpkin.
I wonder how much publicly funded bodies and large corporations would save if they didn't see budgets as a maximum spend rather than as a target. Vin
In fairness, I don't like cider much either. Spirits are the way forward! Talking of which, I got Chaluer Humaine by Christine and the Queens last night. Great album, I recommend it!!
A few years ago I was an outside contractor for an IT company that had a contract in a council. On at least 2 occasions the IT manager (employed by the council) came to me to say can I get a quote for this or that. I said you don't need it. His reply was that unless he spends the budget, he won't get it next year...
This is how departments in the NHS were pissed around by the financial directors. If you didn't spend your budget, the amount you saved was taken off the next year's amount. Absolute insanity. I've not been involved for over 3 years so I don't know if it still prevails.
Congrats! Well done on lasting the month. I could last a month without alcohol, and I think I have done before, but I do enjoy my Saturday night tradition of getting drunk on vodka and playing TF2. Perhaps that tradition could soon be at an end.
