Im sure there will be many on the other forums who will be having a meltdown for sure! I even read a crazy comment on 1 forum just now that someone thinks that you have left it late on purpose in this transfer window so it will be too late for us to replace him. They also said that you are that fearful about you going down and us overtaking you and going up (crazy talk of course) that you prefer to cock us up and take Taylor from us to stop Rovers from overtaking you. I said it was a crazy comment didnt I?

Ha I'd like to think we're not. But this is one of the biggest things to have happened between City and Rovers in years, so it's genuinely exciting. There are a load of Rovers fans who are decent, including some of my mates, so I'm trying not to be too unbearable, but it is hilarious seeing some reactions.

Some of the reactions I have seen is embarrassing <doh> Some thinks he is our best player and losing him is bad but letting him go to you is unthinkable. I think what is hurting some gasheads is the fact our club cant do a thing about it because of the release clause. Some though agrees with how I think on Taylor. Yes he has scored tons of goals and some have been crucial and I will be 1st to say thanks to him because without his goals, we wouldnt be in league 1 now. Thats for sure. But unlike Lambert, I think Taylor can be easily replaceable for us. The sitters that Taylor consistently misses every game is unreal. His shots to goals ratio must be pretty bad. If he was half as good that some gasheads think, he would be getting a lot more goals when you see the chances he has wasted.

Im not trying to be negative about him because it looks like he is leaving. If you see my history of comments just on Taylor and his performances etc, you will see I have not been his biggest fan. When Lambert was with us, I was going on about how great he was and he could make it at the highest level even for England. I was mcked for saying it. Looking at Taylor, I am pretty surprised how many goals he has scored at league 1 this season which is the 1st time played at this level, although a fair few were pens and tap ins. I dont think he will cope at championship level and I really dont think he will cope with the pressure at your club being a ex gas player. He is very much a confidence player and if he misses a chance and gets stick from the crowd, it could all go very wrong for him and yourselves. When that happened with us, our manager stuck with him. Last season, Taylor went through 2 periods without a goal, both periods lasting over 10 games. I cant see your fans and your manager having that much patience with him, especially when you need goals to stay up! And I am saying this with the greatest respect <ok>

I think he could be a better player in the championship strangely enough.

Better players, more football less kick and rush.

Fair enough if you think that. I can only base my opinions over the last 2.5 seasons that I have been watching him <ok>

I said this in pre season to Leeds fans on here when they were sniffing around for him while he was available for free!

"He is very frustrating to watch.

    The good...
We have had him for 2 seasons now and has scored 48/49 goals. Not bad for someone who has never played a single football league game before this season and this season he was Englands top goal scorer across all the leagues! He has scored some cracking goals. But he is not just about goals. He is a great team player too chasing the defence down at every opportunity and got a fair few assists as well. Good with headers although not that tall.

    The bad...
Although was the top scorer, he went through 2 spells this season where he couldnt score. He scored 1 goal in the 1st 10 games of this season. And scored just 1 goal in 11 games from xmas to end of Feb. So 2 goals in 21 games. Somehow he scored 26 goals in the other games! He misses so many sitters, its unreal. I have never seen a player wastes so many 1 on 1's or half open goals. Any other manager would have dropped Taylor easily."

If the fee really is just £300k then he's well worth a punt at todays prices.

Some L1 forwards make it in the Championship and a lot don't. But even if he doesn't, we'll certainly get our money back it we sell him on.

If we have paid 300k and he dont work out, no big deal. I have my doubts whether he will make the considerable jump into the championship. The worse case scenario is he is sold and we make a decent profit. Mate of mine who has a season ticket at the mem describes him as lazy so he should fit in here quite well. I do think however you will miss his goals at league one level.

Indeed, £300k for your club is small change so no big deal. I get that. But surely you would want someone better to help keep you up? This deal is a gamble for sure so why gamble on your league status with this signing? LJ has come in for a lot of criticism over the last few months with results etc. Why go and get a rival's player and pin his hopes on that player to help you. Yes I get its funny that you are taking our player and that it should create a massive meltdown amongst Rovers fans. But is that worth losing your league status over?

I would be pissed off being a City fan right now, losing 8 league games on the trot and just outside the relegation zone with the worse form ever and really looking certain for a relegation dogfight and on the last day of the transfer window, knowing my club has the financial resources to make changes to the squad to change our fortunes and start pushing away from the bottom 3, and then our manager decides to sign a striker who has never played in the championship before and knowing what I know about Taylor, it is a massive massive gamble with signing him. He certainly aint the answer to your problems.
