Wow, thought he would definitely go and keep Fawaz going for a bit longer. Well done to him (he can go there in a few years).

Yes fair play to him, must have been tempted given family connections, more money etc.
He is happy to stay and continue the job of keeping Burton up. I hope he does and nice to see some loyalty in football.

Yes, fair play to him [EDIT: Echo.!]. Burton Albion have something good going, and I suspect there will be better times to accept Nott'm Forest.

    http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/583604/Premier-League-most-hated-clubs-poll-sportgalleries

A poll of most hated clubs in the EPL....going from ManU with 4,957 votes to Bournemouth with 22 votes (we are pretty adorable with 45 votes). Hardly surprisingly the most hated clubs are United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs...so really based on a club's success and how long they have been in the EPL (which reflects the time they have had to piss people off). Perhaps our success will be measured by rising up this poll as much as the league itself. :)

Strange things happening at Real Madrid with sections of the crowd booing ..............................the World Player of the year Cristiano Ronaldo. If he feels fed up with this, I would welcome him to St Mary's with open arms. However, is the ground big enough for his ........ego?

Most hated club in Spain is probably Real Madrid, because of past associations with the Franco Government, and other ones since.

Great win for "Udders" tonight in front of over 20,000 which is fantastic considering that Huddersfield is not a huge town and the enticing prospect of bigger clubs in the area... Leeds, both Sheffield clubs, Bradford City, and just over the Pennines, Preston, Burnley and Blackburn, Oldham, Rochdale, Accrington not to mention both Manchester clubs may well be a more attractive alternative for the possible football fan. So well done Huddersfield on the result and getting a big crowd.

PS: The big gate could be due to a number of factors: two top teams and the fact that no one else was playing. Many years ago, Tranmere played all their home games on a Friday in order to get as many fans as possible who otherwise would have got the ferry and attended either Everton or Liverpool.

While PFC pride themselves on getting such big gates, it is because their nearest rivals tend to play away when they are at home, while Brighton is over 40 miles away (but must now be capturing a fan base along that Sussex coast who may have been possble PFC fans in the past), plus PFC have a realtively big catchment area within 10 miles of the ground. .

Which kind of makes you wonder why the sports media foist them on us at every bleeding opportunity. I really, really don't care if some club's star player has a toe-ache, or a cough. Really, I don't. Yet I'm supposed to. This unfortunate tendency of the football media to assume that another club's supporters might be interested in one of the above's affairs has me beat. Yet they continue to do it. Last Monday, on Radio 5's TMNC they talked way overly long about what's gone wrong at Liverpool. I could have told them the answer in one sentence. They're missing their star player that they pinched off us. Next subject. I'd be more interested in what's gone wrong at Leicester [for example], though that's because Leicester had Kante pinched off them. Next subject.

Basically. How about talking about other clubs in equal measure.? Too radical.? That's how it used to be.

Huddersfield are an odd sort of club. Not the biggest town, but the club itself could almost be said to be a sleeping giant. Actually a comatose one, because they were really successful in the 1920-30's. Successful.? Let's just say that I'd like Saints to have their trophy/runners-up count.

    I do like their stadium.

I know Lincoln are getting a bit of money from their cup run. About £800k so far which has cleared our debts but this is a shocker:

Forest Green Rovers made a loss of nearly £2.5 million for the year ending April 30 2016, the club's accounts have revealed.

The losses of £2,469,374 are down on the previous year when a loss of £2,928,709 was recorded but mean in the last two years the overall losses are in excess of £5.3million

The profit and loss account shows that Rovers had a turnover of £1,097,821 for the year, the vast majority of which came from matchday revenue (£656,608).

The club's wage bill for the year was an eye-popping £2,146,999 – an increase of £219,624 on the previous season.

And at the end of the article it seems by the share/book value Forest Green value their club at £10m!!! A national league club with an average attendance of 1700 and their owners think their club is worth £10m!!!

How much did Markus buy us for?

Don't they have to be careful...FIFA has strict rules about governments interfering in football associations.

Think they're just going to withdraw the £30m worth of funding... think that would be okay.

I worked on a sausage sizzle truck there when I was 13 or 14. It belonged to my mates mum. Absoutely loved it. We used to setup and then bugger off to watch the games. Remember running onto the pitch one time after everything was over and the ground was empty. Groundskeeper went nuts at us. Young and stupid.

Soft spot for that club : )

Reform of the FA is more than worth any possible sanctions from Fifa. If we get booted out the world cup, it just prevents inevitable embarrassment anyway.
