Within reason the price has got **** all to do with it
Keep the good players and add to them if you want to stay up
Sell the highest priced ones and replace them with loans if you want to get your cash out regardless of relegation

Of course, I assumed Sterling wasn't supporting any sale of Robertson this window, but was talking in general that he has a price tag. I'd be happy to sell him in the summer for 20-25m when we have plenty of time to replace him, not now.

He does have a price...but January is not the time to decide what it is

Which would be fine, were it not for the fact that Robertson is worth way more than £10m. So instead of accepting such a low offer, why not wait for a more expensive bid that's closer to our valuation, therefore pocketing more money?

It would be odd if he wasn't talking about this window...given it's the window we're in and it's what everyone's talking about
    I think he was

It is genuinely heart-breaking to see what is happening at our club. Dismantling what remained of a squad and selling our best players Livermore, Snodgrass and now almost definitely Robertson for 50-70% of market value to our rivals. We replace them with loans and bargain players and have a squad with no credible depth in the midst of a relegation battle.

The asset striping stand out for me is the willingness for a quick fire sale and the slapdash grab the money approach and not trying to get maximum value when they could and should get more.

Years of hard work establishing a decent group of players been flushed down the drain whilst one power mad megalomaniac asset strips our club and bleeds it dry out of vindictive spite. Width one day left of the transfer window.

This time tomorrow I could be completely long but the inevitability looks to be setting in. Call me a 'patty wetter' but everything that is happening is straight from the book of How Not To Run a Football Club.

I wasn't saying that was fine!
The correct answer is not to sell him in January full stop

Obviously. Or at least not at the end.

I'd get over it if we did though, I still think he's a better winger than a full back. We have Tymon and we'd get a replacement in.

This has been doing my head in, so I did a bit of research as I didn't believe it to be true:
    The Premier League's 10 best free-kick takers since 2013
    10. WAYNE ROONEY (MANCHESTER UNITED)
Goals: 3 Attempts: 29 (one every 9.67 attempts)
    9. LUIS SUAREZ (LIVERPOOL)
Goals: 3 Attempts: 28 (one every 9.33 attempts)
    8. KEVIN MIRALLAS (EVERTON)
Goals: 3 Attempts: 27 (one every 9 attempts)
    8. ALEXIS SANCHEZ (ARSENAL)
Goals: 3 Attempts: 27 (one every 9 attempts)
    6. STEVEN GERRARD (LIVERPOOL)
    Goals: 3 Attempts: 20(one every 6.67 attempts)
    5. JASON PUNCHEON (CRYSTAL PALACE)
Goals: 3 Attempts: 9 (one every 3 attempts)
    4. GYLFI SIGURDSSON (SWANSEA)
Goals: 4 Attempts: 32 (one every 8 attempts)
    3. YAYA TOURE (MAN CITY)
    Goals: 4 Attempts: 23(one every 5.75 attempts)
    2. JUAN MATA (MAN UTD)
    Goals: 4 Attempts: 18(one every 4.5 attempts)
    1. CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN (TOTTENHAM)
    Goals: 6 Attempts: 61(one every 10.17 attempts)

Why would that be odd? Discussing the impending sale of the player and saying "While everyone has a price this is the wrong time to sell him" doesn't make sense to you?

Sometimes, I can't tell talk from mutter. (I think you may have to remember some adverts for that to work)

Not sure the stat is about just goals, it includes assists as well. But you're right, it's a stat where it's difficult to see what factors they've taken into consideration. That being said, Snodgrass scored at least 3 FK goals for Norwich in the PL and at least 2 for us, so that list can't be accurate.

I'd just let it go, it doesn't need explaining and I'm not going to. If they've not got it then tough, it's misinterpretation by numbers for them.

Man. That is some sheer determined optimism and I applaud you for that but I disagree. You could some how persuade me that having dog **** on my shoe would be a good thing.

Believe me, I'm still not 100% convinced we're going to stay up. But we've got a better shot under this guy than we did under the last one and that's at least enough to show me we're going to make a go of it.

    I agree.
I can't see why. It's as if we have given up and are cashing in for relegation.
    No wonder Bruce walked.

What gets me is that some people still think this is a squad rebuilding thing and it's ok!
I've been saying this for two days or so and posters still reckon we will buy to build.

We are buying bargain basement to avoid embarrassment at not being able to fill a bench.

I agree with that. We all know he's off at some point to a bright and successful career.

£10m to ****ing Burnley is... I just can't think of anything to say about it. There isn't a word. I will trash my bedroom.
